New Lamont Web Site

by: BranfordBoy

Sat Mar 25, 2006 at 07:18:03 AM EST

Great news. The new, totally redesigned web site for Ned Lamont will be debuting shortly, perhaps over the weekend.

Reports are the campaign had to work with two vendors to get the suite of tools and capabilities they wanted, which explains the delay.

Keep checking the site. It sounds awesome.

This is fantastic! (0.00 / 0)
I can't wait.

Boy, the picture of Ned (0.00 / 0)
needs some photoshopping. Does the campaign have anyone with a graphic design background?

Anyway, waiting patiently.

Oh God, this picture is so dark (0.00 / 0)
TrueBlueCT is right--this photo needs some enhancement.

Have you guys seen some photos of the other candidates? Their pics almost seem like glamour shots. Ned needs a glamour shot, too!

Joe tries to associate himself with Jon Stewart (4.00 / 1)
Did you guys see this picture on www.joe2006.com of Joe Lieberman on Jon Stewart's show?

http://www.joe2006.com/photos/photos-Pages/Image5.html

I guess it was fair game for Lieberman to include it on his website...of course, Stewart has both liberals and conservatives on his show...but I can't help but think it's some insiduous attempt by the Lieberman camp to link, in voters' minds, a liberal hero like Jon Stewart, who strongly opposes Bush, with an ultra-conservative neocon like Lieberman who is a strong Bush ally.

After all, it was Jon Stewart who once said, "Joe Lieberman is for people who really want to vote for George Bush -- but think he's not Jewish enough."

Funny, how Lieberman doesn't include THAT quote on his website. :)

Anyway, this just bolsters my case that it's important for Lamont to appear on the Jon Stewart show...so he can have his own picture taken with this great American hero.

Joe's pictures are all about Joe.. (0.00 / 0)
The schmoe must think of himself as a movie star.

Maybe his ego will shrink a size or two along with his poll numbers...

And amen to the Jon Stewart appearance. I'm sure the show would love to have Ned on.

How Regis Philbin? (0.00 / 0)
Sounds kind of goofy but Regis Philbin also lives in Greenwich  as does Ned. And I think they're at least socially familiar with one another, both having supported Bill Bradley in the past.

Of course... (0.00 / 0)
Of course, Ned should get on Philbin's show...but I still think a Stewart appearance is more important. Doesn't Stewart live in CT as well? Like me, I think Stewart grew up in NJ but he's now a CT resident. Right?

Don't all the best people? ;) (0.00 / 0)
As a wingnut put it in the Courant a few days ago,

Ned Lamont, the out of touch, head in the sand, multi-millionaire from one of our New York City suburbs..

I suppose Joe who grew up in Stamford and still has relatives there wouldn't count, now would he?

And of course.. (0.00 / 0)
...a Jon Stewart appearance would be gold.

Think of all the older housewives though who would have to scratch their heads and go "Ned who?" "My what a nice looking young man!" ;)

New contribution capabilities, too (0.00 / 0)
You can now make contributiuons directly on the site here. Take it for a spin. Works like a charm.

Does anyone know if the Lamont campaign gets a little more of your money when you use this online form? (As opposed to using ActBlue or any other intermediary.)

my understanding is they all take 2-3% (0.00 / 0)
although I presume ActBlue charges a little more, (on top), as they aren't a true processing company.

HOWEVER, ActBlue is awesome, b/c it allows every campaign quick and easy access to secure credit card transactions.

It'll be interesting (0.00 / 0)
to see if they take in more through the official site than through ActBlue (going forward).

Obviously, the ActBlue numbers are public, and presumably the other ones are not (at least not until reported).

Thank you, too (0.00 / 0)
The site also generates a "Thank you" note from Ned when you contribute.

Woohoo! (0.00 / 0)
This is exciting!

To whet your appetite: (0.00 / 0)
The Students for Lamont website has been redesigned!

Like I write over on SFL, it's nothing much, but at least it's not a blogger template anymore!

Comments are always appreciated! Let me know what you think!
