What Lieberman's Supporters Think

by: thirdparty

Fri Mar 24, 2006 at 13:26:30 PM EST

"Joe Lieberman will be re-elected by the largest margin in state political history based on the bankrupt issues and goals of the Democratic Party, and rightly so."

- A Lieberman supporter and Hartford Courant reader.

I don't think this opinion is a unique one. Joe's support is strongest among those who despise the long-held values of the Democratic party the most.

Stuck this in the other thread but I'l put it here too (0.00 / 0)
This Westbrook writer fails logic 101  (0.00 / 0)

"Joe Lieberman will be re-elected by the largest margin in state political history based on the bankrupt issues and goals of the Democratic Party, and rightly so. Having a candidate with heaps o' money and nary a clue, will only make the margin even larger."

If you want to pretend you're a supporter of Joe Lieberman you don't end by criticizing the ideals and bankruptcy of the Democratic Party.

We need more grizzled conservatives working for Ned Lamont.

Of course you do (0.00 / 0)
Because MOST of Joe Liebermans support is from REPUBLICANS.

Except that (0.00 / 0)
..in the primary it'll be Democrats voting. The writer of the piece is saying Democrats will turn out in droves to support  a man who does not share their bankrupt political philosophy.

[W]why doesn't the paper simply drop its thinly disguised efforts to undermine anything Republican, or conservative, and just become Ned Lamont's official campaign manager?

That ought to leave a few Democrats scratching their heads.

Absolutely (4.00 / 1)
hasn't he been referred to as "Bush's Favorite Democrat?"

He was originally elected to the Senate with the help of William F. Buckley and his cohorts.  Their group was called "BuckPac," and it was set up primarily to raise money for Lieberman.  They wanted to get Lowell Weicker out.

The Repukes have never put up a strong candidate against him.  They don't have to.
