Hillsman Universal Health Care Ad

by: Matt Browner Hamlin

Tue Mar 27, 2007 at 21:16:56 PM EDT

Bill Hillsman has directed a video for the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut. It's thoughtful and funny, like many of Hillsman's ads for Ned Lamont. The ad is titled "Poor Coverage."

This video is the highlights of this past weekend's 2008 presidential candiates forum on policy solutions for America's broken health care system.

Hillsman (0.00 / 0)
The first time I've heard of the 'Hillsman' advertising co. is with Ned's "turn-coat ads" sometime in mid-August. Although this ad looks clever and cute, I would ask for my money back if I was Ned with the "turn-coat ads" from August. Of course, I only say this because I don't know what other ads Hillsman did for Ned.

The arc of history is long, but it bends toward justice. --Martin Luther King, Jr.

At least, I can't recall a single one Hillsman didn't do, and I think there were nearly 30 ads.

Turncoat Ad sucked (0.00 / 0)
But Hillsman did all of Ned's ads and most of them were really good.  The messy desk one is still my favorite.  And the "So do We" tagline was also great.

Agreed on turncoat and messy desk! n/t (0.00 / 0)
And the new one is great.

The Courant's take (0.00 / 0)
on the ad:

The foundation is spending $300,000 to $400,000 on the TV spots, which are running on Connecticut TV stations through this week, and on radio commercials, said Janet Davenport, the organization's vice president for communications.

The TV ad was done by North Woods Advertising, the Minneapolis-based agency that worked on Ned Lamont's successful Democratic primary campaign against Sen. Joseph Lieberman.

Also, there's a very good cover story in this week's New York Magazine about the "uninsured generation." Worth reading, even if they left the bits about me on the cutting room floor.

I like it! (0.00 / 0)
It's has all of the qualities of a good ad:  very clever, catchy and stays with you!  You certainly get the point of "no coverage" and using the "hospital gown" keeps it in the healthcare field!
