Move on, nothing to see here...

by: Maura

Sadly, it's no surprise that blogger Ray Hackett of the Norwich Bulletin today has written an overview of campaign finance as it relates to CT federal candidates, yet his summary completely ignored the fact that Joe Lieberman has yet to account for the staggering $387,000 in "petty cash" from his campaign.

Is no CT political reporter even slightly curious, if not completely offended, that Joe Lieberman has put nearly a half million dollars in cash on the street in Connecticut in order to win?  Doesn't someone have any interest in writing an award-winning expose here?  Believe me, the story is still out there waiting to be written.

With the SCLM today making note of Lamont spending $45 per vote, I'll simply contrast these interesting bar graphs at MSNBC today with a reminder of Matt Browner Hamlin's illustrative bar graph comparing Lieberman's extraordinary petty cash figures compared with other Senate candidates:

This graph was a result of a great collective research project here at MLN.

Well... A similar thing. Heh...

As far as the Connecticut press is concerned,

it's just a comma...

Ray Hackett is useless (0.00 / 0)
I've posted several times on his "blog" challenging him to get off his ass and do his damn job.  There was a little editorial blurb that expresses surprise at Lieberman's statement that he would consider voting for a Republican based on the sole issue of the Iraq War.  I pointed out Joe's single issue hypocrisy to no avail.

Even more useless is the Bulletin; when I want up to date local news, I read the Day.  Needless to say their editorial staff isn't much better.

somehow, we have to keep hyping this, because in my opinion it is a way to (at least) get that lying sack of scum censured (a la tom dodd). we can't get rid of him, but if this were to generate enough heat--and we get a real senate majority in 08--this is a way to sit him down and shut him up.
therefore it is worthy of our best and continuing efforts.
