| Mark Pazniokas filed his Courant story tonight on the arrest of Ken Krayeske, Cliff Thornton's campaign manager and a peaceful political activist, at Jodi Rell's parade (previous MLN posts on this topic here and here).
Paz makes note in his article of this comment that Ken wrote at Connecticut Local Politics:
Whose going to protest the inaugural ball Jan. 3 with me? No need to make nice after watching this documentary about CJTS
Paz hasn't yet connected this comment to the aspect of this whole outrage that I think is nearly as interesting as the revelation that CTIC has a list of political activists deemed troublesome to Rell -- the fact that the bond for Krayeske was set at the absurdly high level of $75,000.
Since Ken couldn't make this bond, he was kept in lockup all afternoon and night...and then mysteriously sprung without having to make bond at all, simply on promise to appear, at 1:00 AM.
Rell's inaugural ball, which Ken commented at CLP that he'd like to protest, ended at 1:00 AM.

Rather than being Cinderalla, was Rell actually the Wicked Stepmother, using antiterrorism intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and criminal justice resources to keep a pesky political activist like Ken from crashing her inaugural ball?
UPDATE: ATalbot has written a beautiful must-read diary about his experiences with Ken Krayeske when Ken was briefly a staffer with the Lamont campaign. Great stuff.
UPDATE 2: Hey, Ken Krayeske has a Web site and blog, the 40 Year Plan, which is where he wrote the other quote that Paz found. Here's his post about the inaugural ball and his plans to take pictures of Rell on the day he was arrested. Ken doesn't write much about the arrest except his headline on a link to the CTNewsJunkie story, which reads, This really, really sucked. |
