The Courant is reporting that Joe Lieberman's blog (I can't bring myself to wallow in that filth personally) is not only taking full responsibility for its heinous disruption of a senior center event, but bragging about it.
Across town, Lieberman campaign workers surrounded Ned Lamont when he made a stop at a seniors' housing complex across the street from Lieberman headquarters. They kept shouting until Lamont retreated to his campaign bus.
By late afternoon, the Lieberman campaign featured a triumphant account of the confrontation on its website, illustrated by a photo of a rattled-looking Lamont.
"Welcome to the neighborhood, Ned!" the Lieberman campaign said in its blog. "Come again soon!"
It was that kind of day.
I find it profoundly unsettling that Joseph Lieberman, of all people, would embrace the brown-shirt tactics of a darker era. And then allow his staff to resort to such shameless chest thumping about their "victory." Utterly shameful.
