I mean can you actually post the upcoming events blox (go to admin and manage layout and scroll down to the "upcoming events" blox in the soapblox admin panel) so we can post events ourselves and the upcoming events will appear on the front page (so i dont need to dig through archives to get the debate schedule)

Can any of the known posters here confirm that "Mom" is one of the operators of the float?  I'm not trying to cast aspersions, I just don't follow this blog closely and I'm trying to practice, er, due diligence.  I'll be happy to send a small donation if there's confirmation.  Also, maybe FDL could give it some coverage.

suggested a "Kiss" float for the Boombox parade and dad began sketching it out. So I can vouch for dad's voucher of ATalbot's mom. :-)

My daughter... (0.00 / 0)

...was around during the conception of the Float, and helped with its construction (and you can see her riding on it in the Boom Box Parade videos). Y'all would be interested to hear what she told me tonight: Her best friend from our days in Florida has a friend who's something of a political junkie. When my daughter mentioned her involvement with the Kiss Float, this person had not only heard of the float, but was extremely impressed. The Kiss is nationwide, baby!  ;^)

MD is an amazing young woman. Extremely bright, creative and kind. She worked hard and has received very little recognition (other than riding on the the float) for her hardwork and for her friendship. She lives her life with vigor.

She is one of a group of teens that I am aquainted with through my son both through his schools and through the campaign. There are many amazingly talented and committed young adults who are working hard for their and our, future.

See and you will find them.

...for the kind words about my daughter; I could say much the same for your son. The two of them basically shamed me into becoming politically active! Not only in this campaign, but in the courage they showed standing up to a roomful of cranky adults in support of the town budget, they have been incredibly inspiring.

Kids like our two, and their friends, give me hope for the future of this country! And they're who we're fighting for in this campaign.

I don't blame Clyde for wanting verification of my involvement. I haven't posted on this blog nearly as consistently as alot of you.

Dad and I decided to give people the option of helping for this final push of the campaign for a couple of reasons.

Since the primary, alot of people have wanted the float out, and have offered to help with the cost of doing so. We thought if anyone really wanted to contribute, they would, and if people couldn't or wouldn't, they wouldn't.

We put forth more than we ever intended since this summer getting the float made, on the road and repaired when needed.  Jon K., Keith and Edward have also contributed significantly since July getting the float around CT. (Jon's truck has been used mercilessly and has the scars to prove it. And, Keith has already invested a fortune in Kiss Buttons!) It has been requested that the float be out to every event possible -- with some specific events requested as well. We'd like to make sure that the people physically helping to get it out, aren't the only ones financially making it happen as well.

Bottom line, only help if you can.

Note to Elsie:  Since we're exceptionally new at this, it took me half the day to figure out how to activate PayPal -- right now, I don't know any other way to donate.

THis one piece of street theater is the most hated thing Joe Lieberman has every had to follow him around. He loaths it. IT takes him off message. No matter who sees it the message is clear.

The only thing I would add to it...

Keith, do you have a bear costume you can use to "sleep in" when the float is parked?

18 years and Joe has become the sleeping bear... ;-)

Beyond that.

The float is king. Give til it hurts, then give some more.

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

Kiss Float Sighting! (0.00 / 0)

I was SOOO excited to see the Kiss float on the road today.  It was on Rt. 110 in Monroe and it was so wierd at first there was a black truck with a big tan mass on it then i saw the float - in all its glory.  I couldn't help but beap - i hope i didn't scare Dad - they must have gotten up really early to get down to Monroe by 8ish.
