That is a huge number. I talked to a few independents phonebanking today who wanted to switch and were just too late - if only they had picked when they were called earlier!

The number through last Friday (0.00 / 0)

--from the month of May who have switched from unaffiliated to Democratic is 11,496. This is according to an article in the Hartford Courant. The Secretary of State, Bysiewicz, provided the info.

The number who switched to the Republican party amounts to only a few hundred.

I would guess that the majority of the new Dems are anti-war and anti-Lieberman.
