Unanimus resolution of the Hampton Democratic Party

by: JJinCT_2

Wed Jul 19, 2006 at 21:47:59 PM EDT

Whereas: Senator Lieberman intends to run as an Independent should he lose the Democratic primary in August,

And Whereas: Such a move would split the Democratic vote and increase the chance of a Republican victory in the November election,

And Whereas: This one seat might make a difference as to which party organizes the Senate with dire consequences to America's future,

And Whereas:  Senator Lieberman's action amounts to political blackmail by threatening Democrats that should they vote against him in the primary he will take actions that increase the chance of a Republican victory in the November election,

Now Therefore: The Hampton Democratic Town Committee urges Senator Lieberman to retract his threat to split the party by running as an Independent should he lose the primary election and, instead, to support the candidate elected by Democrats.

Kudos to Hampton (0.00 / 0)
We need all the DTCs to line up on this.

one way to get them to line up (0.00 / 0)
I think we should all make generous donations to all the Democratic Town Committees that adopt resolutions condemning Joe for his indepedent run against the Democratic party.

If other politicans see that it actually pays $$$ to do the right then, then the lure of increase campaign contributions might finally induce them to adopt the moral position.

As it is, many CT politicans do not see any political benefit in doing the right then.

It is our responsibility to prove them wrong.

CONTRIBUTIONS ACCEPTED.. LOL (0.00 / 0)
Contributions to support the progressive wing of the CT Democratic party can be made by visiting:

Thank you!

We have an annual budget of $1000. (Which we raise by selling grinders on Super Bowl Sunday- no get out, yes!)  So if anyone wishes to make a contribution, be assured that your money will go towards getting voters to the polls in August and November and building a broader progressive Democratic coalition in the quiet corner of CT.

Here is an example of a mailer we sent to every unaffiliated voter in Hampton. On the front of every mailer we printed: “If you want to vote in the two hottest races in Connecticut, you have to be a Democrat.”

We would love your feedback on our website, and thanks for the encouraging words.
