I love the first cartoon --"Napoleon" Lieberman (4.00 / 1)
May the August 8th Democratic Primary be your Waterloo, sir.

I think I'd make the analogy something like... (0.00 / 0)
"Mr. Lieberman, may August 8 be your march to Moscow. May November 7 be your Waterloo."

Napolean I

Over the course of little more than a decade, he fought virtually every European power and acquired control of most of the western and central mainland of Europe by conquest or alliance until his disastrous invasion of Russia in 1812, followed by defeat at the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig in October 1813, which led to his abdication several months later. He staged a comeback known as the Hundred Days (les Cent Jours), but was again defeated decisively at the Battle of Waterloo in Belgium on June 18 1815

The first cartoon fits the complex. :-)

I like the portrayal of... (0.00 / 0)
..."CONN DEMS". Is that what the rest of the country think we look like? Bald with thick glasses and plaid shorts? It does come across as kind of intellectual-preppy, which certainly describes at least some Connecticut Democrats.

That guy does look like, for example, the kind of dude you might see standing in the corner of a Yale alumni function.

Lieberman, however, in the bottom cartoon, looks maybe like the prime minister of a small northern European country IMHO.

Just Luckovich, I think (0.00 / 0)
Nobody comes off as particularly attractive in his cartoons.

I'd say the look is less about what he thinks "Conn Dems" look like and more about his idea of what Mr and Mrs J. Random American look like.

His Shrub is pretty bad, too (0.00 / 0)
The other guy holding hands.

[ Parent ]
Even If Joe (0.00 / 0)
does manage to keep his job in Washington (though I don't think he will), he will do so as a diminished figure, one who nobody takes seriously.  He is an object of ridicule in his own state.
