1. WHO ARE WE? WE ARE MARCH FOR CHANGE.
A coalition of activists supporting the enactment of safer gun legislation in CT; legislation that will be sponsored by CT AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE
MARCH FOR CHANGE is the grassroots effort (off-shoot) of CT AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE (CAGV). MARCH FOR CHANGE is the "noise" that will support the legislative efforts of CAGV. This NOISE will force our legislators to listen and take action.
2. HOW ARE WE GOING TO MAKE NOISE AND MAKE IT LOUD?
LIST BUILDING IS KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS CAMPAIGN - we are only as strong as our database
LISTS of people and organizations who are willing to take action when called upon (I.e. the March on February 14th; going to Hartford at key points in the legislative process; responding to alerts and contacting legislators, etc.)
3. WHAT ARE WE MARCHING FOR?
Enactment of SAFER GUN LAWS in the State of CT
Plain and simple. YES, there will be a specific bill to rally around, but that language is forthcoming from CAGV. In less than two weeks we will know the language of the bill that CAGV Is presenting and standing behind. At that point, we will know what the bill is called and what it is demanding of our legislators.
We DO know that the bill will address a ban on HIGH CAPACITY AMMUNITION MAGAZINES. Other items for discussion are referred to as COMMON SENSE GUN LAWS. This is a catch phrase you can use when asked "What are we marching for?" |
