Lieberman. Gone. Now!

by: Met00

ENOUGH!

BECK: But do you agree that Senator Hatch said to me that if we don't at least have the firewall of the filibuster in the Senate that in many ways America will not survive?

LIEBERMAN: Well, I hope it's not like that, but I fear.

...

LIEBERMAN: And I think the filibuster is the key. You know, it gets a bad name, but it was really put there, a 60-vote requirement, to, as somebody said to me when I first came to the Senate, stop the passions of a moment among the people of America from sweeping across the Congress, the House, through the Senate, to a like-minded President and having us do things that will change America for a long time. So the filibuster is one of the important protections we have.

America won't survive a 60 seat Democratic majority? The survival of the country is in doubt?

Gone. I want him gone! Bounce his ass out of my Democratic caucus. Don't put him an any committees at all. He thinks my party is a threat to America. Screw him. Let him be a "maverick" on the GOP side.

We Democrats have a really big tent, it's black, white, brown, yellow; it's male, female and transgendered; it's straight and gay; it's rich and poor, with a great deal of the middle class for good measure, but it's not open to traitorious scumbags.

Lieberman and the filibuster (0.00 / 0)
Didn't Lieberman cite his historic aversion to the filibuster as a reason for joining the Gang of 14? Didn't Lieberman (and snake Lieberdefender Lanny Davis) cite the filibuster's awful history in the civil rights era again and again in justifying Lieberman's votes on a range of issues first for cloture and then against the issue on the floor?

I once heard Lieberman (a since deleted audio from Lieberman's Senate page) give an impassioned defense of ANWR where he said he opposed the filibuster but he may have to support to preserve God's own wilderness (or something...I'm paraphrasing).

In short, the record shows that Lieberman (and Lanny Davis) has a track record of opposition to the filibuster in general based on it's use during the civil rights era. Embracing the filibuster now is the same as embracing the people who used the filibuster during the civil rights era.

When McCain loses, Lonesome Joe's lifeline will be cut and he will be twisting in the wind.
If the Democratic Caucus has any backbone, they'll strip Joe from his Chairs and Committees as he is officially a lone Independent.
It's the least they can do for a "Featured Speaker" at the Republican National Convention.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Ole' Joe come crawling back, hat in hand,
to pretend to be a Democrat once more (support of the Iraq War still in full swing, however).
"I was just reaching across the aisle to set aside partisan politics" (repeat 125 times)

Buh-Bye now!

Really, Joe, you need to choose a side. There is no such thing as an "Independent Democrat". If you can't make up your mind, we'll just have to do it for you.

AZ went for McCain, no surprise. (0.00 / 0)

As the new Commander In Chief must now end the Occupations and bring our soldiers back home.

sly like a FOX (0.00 / 0)
Don't they have some new rule going into effect to close the revolving door so politicians have to wait a few years before finding a new host to bleed money from by being a high paid lobbyist?  Wasn't that the reason several GOP legislators bailed before the new law became active?

Rove went to Fox "News".  Do you think Joe could resign and go there also for awhile to tide him over until he & Karl can go back and make big money on K Street?  M Jodi could try to resuscitate the GOP in New England by naming Joe's successor.

Other than that, I can't see Joe resigning.

On the magic 60 filibuster number, you don't think there are any GOPs who would help out, like Hagel?
