Lieberman's Photo-Op

by: spazeboy

Sat Apr 29, 2006 at 00:21:24 AM EDT

I cut together a little video of Joe's news appearances tonight with footage from Lamont in New Haven (Naples, courtesy CTBlogger's mad camera skillz) talking about the energy bill, listing who voted against it, and naming the man who voted for it...

It's not very sophisticated, but it's informative.  My favorite part is the lady who says "it's enough to make you puke"

Watch it at YouTube or on the flip.

PERFECT.... (0.00 / 0)
This is exactly the type of guerrilla grassroots stuff we should be doing.

Yep (0.00 / 0)
Joe Lieberman should NEVER be allowed in front of a camera or an audience without being challenged until the word RETIRED or FORMER is in front of the title Senator. The Lamont campaign can't do that but us grassroots and Netroots people can.

No More Diner stops where Lieberman calls the press and a couple of Dozen of his supporters 3 hrs beforehand and he gets a very phoney but effective spot on the 5 o'clock news.

WTNH did the right thing by putting the fact that Lieberman was going to be at the Mobil station on Longwharf and Every other Press outlet,Print,Radio and TV should have done the same thing as soon as they recieved the info from Liebermans office. If they don't they're complicit in the disinformation campaign that Liebermans been foisting on Ct citizens for years.

PS.To any reporters reading this I expect the exact same treatment for Lamont,Delauro,Shays,Simmons,DeStefano,Malloy and every other Pol in CT.As soon as they notify you of an event your responsibility is to notify the public not just send a camera crew and stroke them softly.

Lamont should take the lead (0.00 / 0)
I would love to see a "Meet Lamont" piece on his web site that has his schedule. If the appointment is in his blackberry it should be on the web site. He should have 100% transparency. Every day all his appearances should be faxed to every media outlet (along with a note that any changes will be published at the web site).

Lieberman wants to hide from the people. Lamont has a great issue with Transparency. Heck I would run a side-by-side window that shows "Where's Ned" and "Where's Joe" on the site.

I would also have a side by side called "The Great Debate" which lists the issues and has Lamont positions and Lieberman Positions

for example:

THE GREAT DEBATE
IssueLAMONTLeiberman
EnergyAmerica should be investing in alternative energy concepts. Research and development, as NASA going to the moon showed, always pays off handsomely with increases in technology and answers to questions we were unaware we even had. Focused research and development of new methods for generating energy will create new industries, new jobs, new technology and new ways for us to create and meet our energy needs while helping green the planet.

The Federal Government should be at the forefront of funding and developing these new technologies and new industries. We should be investing in our future.

At the same time we should be making sure that the current crop of energy companies are protecting the environment, protecting our children, and not making windfal proffits through the manipulation of markets at CT residents expense.

Senator Lamont would NOT have voted to support the Bush-Cheney Energy Bill as presented before Congress.

Joe Lieberman supports the Cheney Energy Policies. He was the only New England Senator to vote with the GOP (including GOP New England Senators that voted against the GOP) on the Bush-Cheney Energy Bill.

And there you have it... A set of issues that clearly differentiate the two candidates. One that states Lamonts position and then Lieberman's actual vote.

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

Great Ideas (0.00 / 0)
For a long time I've thought there should be total transparency into the schedules of our elected officials. Unless there's a legit reason for secrecy (like national security) I would post every one of my meetings for public review. Meet with a lobbyist? Make it public. It lifts you above scrutiny if you have nothing to hide.
