Interview available for your downloading pleasure at both the Ned Lamont Resource and ConnecticutBLOG

Collect 'em all!

'Tis a must listen, just to hear Janeane (seriously, I'm probably butchering her name) crack up at the mention of My Left Nutmeg.

It was very exciting . . . (0.00 / 0)
to be in the studio with them.  Ned did great, and both  Sam and Jeanine (not to mention Josh, Mark, and Logan behind the scenes) were just terrific.  Also, I now know for sure what happens on West Wing!

Great comment from Ned when Sam Seder asks about Joe's TV ads..."Joe went on the air a couple of weeks ago. He said he's back in the state listening to people. He was actually in the Middle East when the ads started."

Another great Lamont comment from the interview (4.00 / 1)
"My consultants do a lot of things, but one thing they don't do is tell me what to say."

Thanks for the link, Spazeboy. (0.00 / 0)
As the guy who coined the name, I had a ball listening to the interview. Not only did it prick my sense of humor, it warmed the cockles of my heart.

And I loved the plug.

So is Nutmeg, CT's nickname, realy a spice as Janeane thinks? (0.00 / 0)
I had read somewhere else that "Nutmeg" was also a synonym for con artist.

LEARNING TIME! Yaaaay! (0.00 / 0)
This is more or less accurate:

Nutmeg is a spice, generally found in South Asia and China. As you might gather, this would make it a rather exotic good, and wood get quite a good price in a place such as New England. Some entrepreneurs from our fair state came up with the idea of whittling down wood into the shape of the nutmeg seed and making a tidy profit off of it. It's debatable whether this was an actual practice, or just another legend.

If you're interested (and as a Connecticut resident, I am confident you are), I would search for wood nutmeg, or wooden nutmeg. I've heard it used to describe a con or a fake, but I've never heard of just the term nutmeg used to describe the actual person.

Social libertarian.

This morning...I didn't find out until it was already on.

Thankfully, they have a podcast that was made available rather quickly.

Download it at the Ned Lamont Resource
