Edwards Weighs In

by: dauphinb

Thu May 15, 2008 at 02:33:13 AM EDT

Probably old news to political junkies like this crowd, but since nobody's posted it yet, here's the video...

...and the AP story via HuffPo.

Of course, Andy Borowitz thinks it may not be over yet... at least, not 'til the lady in the pantsuit says it is.

why does that skinny guy with a $600 haircut (0.00 / 0)
sound so much like a fat lady singing?

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

Hold On! (0.00 / 0)
It was bad enough when that haircut was reported to be $400 -- which included "waiting time," because the hairdresser had been kind enough to come to the airport to cut Edwards' hair and the plane was late. [Edwards insisted upon paying for all of the person's time!]  But a $600 claim represents even fuzzier math . . .

I was wrong... (0.00 / 0)
It was $800, no, make that $1000 all from poor people whom he ripped off after he got all the money from the corporations he sued that did nothing wrong. HA!

[Gee I hope Obama makes the skinny guy with the great hair the next Atty General. Maybe he will even let him go through all the presidential records so all the crooks for the last 8 years can be put in jail... Of course, Bush could pardon Cheney and team 2 days before he leaves office, and then resign the next day and then Cheney can be sworn in and pardon Bush and his team and then they can all go away knowing that they are all untouchable from AG Edwards]

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

Absolutely wrong (0.00 / 0)
John Edwards was defending poor workers, many in dangerous and dirty jobs, and far from "ripping off corporations that did no wrong", they most certainly did do wrong, as the juries found repeatedly.  And he got a heckuva a lot of money for workers who were wronged and injured by employers who didn't give a stuff for their health or welfare.

And this "skinny guy" almost single-handedly put the issue of universal health care on the national agenda.  And that "skinny guy's" health care plan is still the best one out there, the most detailed, and the most cost-effective.  This skinny white southerner had the guts to stand up for poor people and minorities in a region of the country where white people rarely go out on a limb like that.  That "skinny guy" is the son of a poor textile factory worker, who studied hard and worked hard.  How many right-wing white southerners do you see standing up for universal health care, for the rights of poor workers, for the enforcement of safety regulations in the Deep South?  Right: extremely few.

I would have liked to vote for John Edwards for president.  Contrary to the right-wing slime machine's harping on his haircut, he has a heart and he has courage.  And I'm surprised, to say the least, that you would be parroting mindless Fox News jibes like this.

#1 - Your sarcasm meter might be broken, and

#2 - who cares? If you have a $100 million campaign apparatus working to get you elected, you better spend whatever it takes to look good on TV and in front of crowds. I bet McCain spends $600 every day getting his noggin waxed. It's a non-issue that's kept alive by the utter apoplexy that greets it by a lot of Edwards backers.

Met00 was a huge Edwards supporter through the whole campaign, iirc.

I agree, after Gore, Edwards was my #2 (0.00 / 0)
and sarcasm is over rated... sort of like "great sex after marriage" (do I have to put a /sarcasm after that?)

Finally, McSame is known to spend thousands every day having his blood transfused by the best morticians money can afford. I know, because I heard it on Faux.

Oh. In that case.... (0.00 / 0)
As Rosanne Rosanna-Danna would say, "Never mind."
