someone hire that kid (4.00 / 2)
to go to every event Clinton speaks at and ask that same question until she says "yes" or "no".

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

I'll vote for McCain/Rice. I think that they are about the only team that could make the last 8 years seem like the "good times".

Really, why would anyone vote for the senile old fart and the lying witch primarily responsible for 9/11 ("well the report didn't say what airlines Bin Laden was planning on using... and it didn't have an exact date...")?

Typical Anti-Clinton Bias (0.00 / 0)
What has become of this site when people post and recommend diaries featuring videos in which voters dare to ask "inevitable" candidates if they are trying to preserve their own interests at the expense of the party?

This used to be such a nice blog.

Ok, so how did Lanny Davis (0.00 / 0)
..get access to spazeboy's account?

That's a fair question (0.00 / 0)
And, I'm actually curious who among MLN'ers would respond one way or the other.

It's too bad the video didn't include Hillary's response. I would have been curious what she would have to say. Or Obama, for that matter, if he was asked the same question.

Thank you (0.00 / 0)

Clinton's response... (0.00 / 0)
Basically: It's about winning ...  if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

She said that she wants a Democrat to win, but that, in political campaigns, the object is to beat the other person. Basically, she's saying she has nothing to apologize for. I wish she had been a little more understanding about this.

Alienating black voters by making race an issue and sicking Geraldine Ferraro on Obama; insulting small states, "latte-sipping" states and Red states by saying they don't matter; making an issue of the Florida and Miichigan elections after agreeing that those primaries wouldn't count; and claiming that John McCain has crossed the "commander-in-chief test" are all pretty near-sighted and self-serving.

All these things -- except the Michigan and Florida issue -- could hurt Democrats at downticket races across the country if she were the candidate, and could potentially come back to hurt Clinton herself in a general election.

If Obama wins the election, she'll have to go back to her voters and say "that was just politics ... I didn't mean it" if she wants to help the Democrat win. She'll have to give some sort of an "apology."

Clinton Doesn't Apologize (0.00 / 0)
Today, Hillary suggested that it was Obama whose statements can't be trusted; yet any number of her lies already have been well documented. That she can do this with a straight face is an indication of a sociopathic personality. The more she campaigns, the worse she looks -- which may be one big reason why her support is slipping; I sure hope so.

For what it's worth (0.00 / 0)
Hillary Clinton did say in the "6 min version" at 5:29 into the video:

But, I am glad you came and so happy you are involved, because I'd rather that you be involved even if you are not for me than to be apathetic and be uninvolved.

Words like these don't seem like such a scorched-earth mentality to me. At this point, I would prefer that the Democrats rally around a nominee and save their dollars for the general election as opposed to tearing each other apart (Obama vs. Clinton) with precious monies which could be spent more efficiently after the convention. But, Hillary Rodham Clinton does not look as bad as many in MLN accuse her to be with just viewing the "6 min version" vid Scarce has provided.

Still, IMHO, if Hillary does not make a big dent on Obama's delegate and popular vote count after Pennsylvania, I would hope she uses her political prowess for an exit strategy to leave her campaign without letting her ardent supporters seem to be hanging out high and dry.

Politician (4.00 / 2)
She'd have looked bad if she did anything other than praise the young man for his participation in the process.  I'm sure she was wishing him a quick trip to the lake of fire all the time she was smiling at him.  Because she knew exactly what he meant but was unable to articulate clearly.  He didn't say, "Do you regret that your campaign/supporters "leaked" the photo of Obama in "Arab" dress?"  He didn't ask if she approves the email campaign claiming Obama is an anti-Israel Muslim. He didn't say, "How can you say you want a Democrat to win when you compare your Democratic opponent unfavorably to the Republican candidate?"

But of course that's what he meant and she knew it.  She simply failed to answer the question.  For 6+ minutes.
