Michelle Obama visits Connecticut ... Barack on the way

by: CaptCT

Thu Jan 31, 2008 at 09:25:13 AM EST

Michelle Obama spent time talking to people at a diner in Stamford, CT, and then attended a fundraiser in Greenwich hosted by Ned Lamont. She made the point that we can solve many of America's problems not by blaming each other or by making us afraid of people different than us -- as Bush, Lieberman, McCain and Shays have been doing -- but by overcoming those fears that divide us and actually working together:
"This is sort of the beauty of this campaign. Whether you are wealthy person who lives in Greenwich or whether you're somebody who's living in South Central L.A., you know the hopes for the future of this country are the same," Obama said. "People want a message of more unity. People believe that we can do better if we're not operating from a place of fear but from a place of possibility."

Michelle Obama didn't spend much time discussing her husband's policies. But Barack may do that himself. Apparently, Senator Obama will be coming to Connecticut on Monday:

Obama Coming To Connecticut
Barack Obama is expected in Connecticut -- most likely Hartford -- on Monday, his campaign staff has announced. On Wednesday evening, a time or venue had not yet been arranged. Monday is the day before Connecticut voters participate in the 22-state Super Tuesday primary. Obama's opponent for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton, came to the Learning Corridor in Hartford earlier this week.

UPDATE: Congressmen Murphy and Larson will endorse Obama:

Connecticut Congressmen John Larson and Chris Murphy threw their support to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Thursday ahead of his planned visit to the state next week. [...]

The two plan to formally announce their endorsements at a Saturday rally. Obama's campaign said he will visit the state Monday, the day before Connecticut and 21 other states hold their Super Tuesday primaries.

Gabe at CTLP looks at how this endorsement may affect the battle for CT delegates.
