CTBob Documents Lamont - and Kerri Rowland

by: tessa

(Bob on Ned Lamont: I have to say this about Ned...after his defeat, it would have been the easiest thing in the world for him to say "the heck with it", and retire from the political arena. In fact, everyone would have totally understood if he did that...He's spending an incredible amount of time and personal effort to help us all get better government. He stands as a prime example of what a single person can do to change things. - promoted by Scarce)

On the Milford Dems website Bob writes:

Last year's Democratic candidate for senate Ned Lamont took some time to help raise funds for Kerri's campaign and endorse her as the next mayor of Milford.  Also in the video, Kerri relates a story about why she's going through all the effort to help change things.

It takes a village and a vlogger...

For the record... (0.00 / 0)
Ned Lamont is awesome.

Also for the record, the disclaimer at the end of the video does say "Paid for by Kerri Rowland For Mayor...", but in fact, I've not charged anything at all (even reimbursement) for these videos.  Just in case the IRS is reading this.

Even MORE for the record - Kerri rocks!  She's really grown as a public speaker and I'm sure she'll be an incredible mayor.

We need GOTV help in the last few days before the election, so please go to Kerri's website and send her a note saying you'll volunteer:

Great video, great candidate! (0.00 / 0)
Great video Bob.  But when I worked in the public school system and the kids used to complain about their ID photos, we told them, "the camera takes a picture of what it sees..." (yeah, callous, weren't we?)

Well, great videos are awful hard to make without a great candidate, and Kerri is great so making great videos is easy with her.  I'm so excited about Kerri Rowland, her intelligence, determination, integrity and passion - I wish I was in Milford to vote her in as mayor.

You Rock, Bob! (0.00 / 0)
(but someone please make sure Kerri reports it as an in kind donation, because the SEC is picky about that stuff)

Isn't Blogging Exempt? (0.00 / 0)
If the video is only for use on blogs?

[ Parent ]
Perhaps (0.00 / 0)
But if it is used on her website, I believe it has cash value.  Good to look into anyway.

[ Parent ]
what if it's only linked? n/t (0.00 / 0)

No idea (0.00 / 0)
I just wanted to make sure it was looked into if need be.  Don't want Kerri OR Bob to get in any trouble for such a great "ad"!

No Problems Here (0.00 / 0)
"In Kind" and Kindly donated.

As I understand it, what matters is the time (as MasterCard says: Priceless which in this case = No Monetary Value) and tools (minimal) for the taping - no royalties due for vlogs, unfortunately for Mr. CTBob.

I knew you'd be on the case, tessa! (0.00 / 0)

"He stands as a prime example of what a single person can do to change things."

You mean a single person with a lot bigger bank account than most... lol jk

Worked for Ned Lamont for Free (4.00 / 2)
It isn't always the bank account. Last year I went to every Ned-related event I could (DFA at Naples Pizza, Sirota book signing at Atticus Books, Omni Hotel campaign announcement, Orange Democrats Town Picnic, etc), assisted in holding phone banking for Ned during the Primary, helped organize local rallies, etc.

Money had nothing to do with it.

Money pays for ads and signs and literature in the mail. Money pays for a campaign manager and offices. Just like running a business, running for office is expensive. State Senator Dan DeBicella (R) raised $200,000 to run as a first time candidate last year.

Ned added value by endorsing local candidates (4.00 / 2)
which is far in excess of any monetary donation he could have made.  The local candidates get press, attention, and good will which they would not receive without high profile endorsements/campaigning.

What Ned is traveling the state doing for local progressive candidates goes far beyond the state of his pocketbook.

You two do realize (0.00 / 0)
I was only kidding? I think the Colbert quote would be a dead give-away on that. :)
