About That "Perfect Job"

by: tparty

Top-ranking State Dept. official, gone:

Only 38 days after the Nisour Square shootings and a myriad of sub-scandals and related controversy, and someone at the State Department has finally lost his job. ABC News reports that Richard Griffin, the top diplomatic security official at Foggy Bottom, has agreed to resign after Amb. Patrick Kennedy's recommendations on overhauling State's relationship with its security contractors amounted to a tacit rebuke of his tenure.

Taxpayer money, gone:

New documents suggest that Blackwater may have engaged in significant tax evasion, failing to withhold and pay millions of dollars in Social Security, Medicare, unemployment, and related taxes, and sought to conceal its conduct from Congress and law enforcement officials.

Blackwater's remaining credibility, gone:

As the next step of the PR campaign, Blackwater sent an e-mail blast today, encouraging supporters to contact "elected Congressional representatives" with "letters, e-mails and calls" with the goal of "influencing the manner in which they gather and present information."

Chris Shays' remaining credibility, gone:

Shays: Well, lemme ask you this. If everyone is criticizing people who have given their lives to save Americans, don't you think it makes sense for one of the people in the committee to thank them?

Chris Shays' mind, gone.

Shays: Blackwater is "perfect," but their widows are money-grubbing shysters (4.00 / 1)
Shays says he won't criticize "people who have given their lives to save Americans"?

So who will Shays criticize? Their widows!

In this clip, he tells the widows of the Blackwater security guards who died in Falluja to "don't interrupt," as he bullies and intimidates them, and based on nothing, suggests that the widows are lying about events surrounding their husbands' deaths.

To Shays, Blackwater may be "perfect," but their widows are money-grubbing shysters.

the Iraqis may not be as weak as we thought...... (0.00 / 0)
BAGHDAD - The Iraqi government remains determined to expel the Blackwater USA security company and is searching for legal remedies to overturn an American-imposed decree that exempts all foreign bodyguards from prosecution under local laws, officials said Wednesday.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government accepted the findings of an Iraqi investigative committee that determined Blackwater guards, without provocation, killed 17 Iraqis last month in Nisoor Square in western Baghdad.

Iraqi investigators declared that Blackwater should be expelled and $8 million should be paid as compensation for each victim.
