Lieberman already doing ads for Susan Collins

by: Scarce

Thu Jun 21, 2007 at 09:35:53 AM EDT

Well, almost. Below is an internet ad by the republican frontgroup Partnership for Public Service, led by Samuel J. Heyman of Westport CT. Lieberman (and the moderate Dem Jane Harman of California) are front and center in their effusive praise of this Bush enabler.

And a reminder that the bipartisanpalooza for Collins is tonight in Washington D.C. (Lieberman Helps Collect Cash for Collins). Graphic courtesy of Kath25 at Dailykos, which tparty linked to below.

Excellent investigative journalism, Scarce (4.00 / 1)
...re:  asbestos connections/legislation of Heyman to weasel, joementum (I refuse to give the guy an uppercase "J")!

Ouch.

We @TMB (as well as Tom & his IT folks) really appreciate the assist (and kath25's pics are wonderful...my Photoshop skillsets are putrid)--while Suzie-Q's off jaunting around in the D.C. Beltway w/all the corporate fatcats (nary a note of it during the noontime local TV news up here).

Nothing new in that regard; however, it'll help in deconstructing that wholesome "County Girl" rural "from Maine" moderate bullshit meme we hear in the MSM.

Thanks a bunch again, Nutmeggers!

Republican front groups (0.00 / 0)
It is rather remarkable how many of these things exist, the main purpose of which is for wealthy individuals and corporations to hobnob with the politicos and thus exert even more influence over them, probably getting a tax write-off in the process.

The Heyman's had never given Lieberman a dime before he lost the democratic primary in August 06.

That's *exactly* what we intend to (0.00 / 0)
emphasize, Scarce.

Maine people are NOT at all wealthy; and they'll resent the hell out of this bigwig fundraising event in the D.C. Beltway (they tend to be a tad xenophobic, re: people "from away").

Thanks, joementum!

Wolfie is supposed to mention this simultaneous netroots effort, via small donations from ordinary people (not sure how long/when) during this hour (4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. up here in Maine) on his Situation Room" thang.

A number of the interviewees (0.00 / 0)
are referring to an award that Collins won.  Kinda sounds like they took interviews from another context to turn it into a commercial for Collins.  Did they do that?  To me it's important to know how what the reason was they sat down to talk on camera.  Anybody know?

Didn't really understand the reference to this group (0.00 / 0)
as a Republican front group until seeing the sourcewatch link for Sam Hayman.

I'm thrilled to see Jane Harman won last year.
