I laughed when I first read this but it's actually pretty pathetic that the Pentagon would even consider it.

Pentagon Confirms It Sought To Build A 'Gay Bomb'
A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.

It's really true!

"The Ohio Air Force lab proposed that a bomb be developed that contained a chemical that would cause enemy soliders to become gay, and to have their units break down because all their soldiers became irresistably attractive to one another," Hammond said after reviwing the documents.
"The notion was that a chemical that would probably be pleasant in the human body in low quantities could be identified, and by virtue of either breathing or having their skin exposed to this chemical, the notion was that soliders would become gay," explained Hammond.
Hammond said the government records he obtained suggest the military gave the plan much stronger consideration than it has acknowledged.

And what does this have to do with Lieberman?
I am POSITIVE that Lieberman must have toured the Ohio plant for a photo op and was exposed to the chemical. How else could you explain his absolute love affair and devotion to neocons? How else could you explain a Democrat falling madly in love with "Little Boots" and abandoning his party principles?

honest but harsh assessment (4.00 / 1)

Part of this is based on a conversation I had with someone who knows the LIEberman family well but here goes.

Hadassah's his new mommy.

1. Lieberman has some psychological deficiency where he needs to be controlled by a mommy-like figure and overcompensate by trying to please "strong father" figures afraid of getting beat up by the bullies. He's the type of guy who as a kid would run to mommy the moment a kid half his size and 5 yrs his junior threatened him.

2. By all accounts, his mother was a really good person and could control him. Joe is psychologically dependent on pleasing "mommy." But whenever Joe would morally go astray (his entire life) or vacillate on issues, Mama Lieberman would get a hold of Joe and straighten his wimpy ass out. While psychologically this isn't always healthy, Mama Lieberman would actually straighten his ass out in a positive way.

3. When Joe's mom passed away a few years ago, Hadassah basically became his new mommy. So Joe is just carrying out the wishes of what he describes as "his right wing" Hadassah is one crazy, deluded, individual.

my theory, and while controversial, I'm probably spot on.

Joe Lieberman and George Bush believe that our govt should cut and run on capturing Osama Bin Laden so that Bush and the neocons could invade Iraq. Despite no Wmds and no links to 9/11, Lieberman supports that decision.

The problem here (4.00 / 1)

is that Lieberman has been right wing nutty for longer than since his mom died.

I remember commenting on a thread over at dKos on his mothers death that Lieberman still had to go. I got chased off of that thread by a herd of Kossack Lieberman supporters (I got chased off of a lot of Joe threads where I would mention that joe had to go because it wasn't cool to diss a dem there, even if it was joe) because he still had some cover there from the herds.

But the movement to dump joe had already started long before Ned's name ever came up and long before Joe's mother died. The national Blogs just hadn't noticed it yet.

But that still doesn't mean that Hadassah couldn't have had a growing influence on his politics.
