His wife does have a recurrence of cancer but so far is symptom free, and will continue to campaign with him.

She does have a symptom. (0.00 / 0)

From what I've heard, this metastatic bone lesion (on her rib?) was discovered because she had been complaining of pain on her side (?ribs). It's too bad. Edwards was correct that the cancer is incurable. But, it is treatable. Still Mrs. Edwards' life will be shortened because of this cancer. She and her family must be going through a lot right now.

She had x-rays (0.00 / 0)

...for pain she suffered when she fractured a rib in an unrelated activity and the cancer was discovered then. Edwards said she was lucky it was spotted and that she was symptom free.

"I don't look sickly, I don't feel sickly. I am as ready as any person can be for that," she said at the news conference.

As best as could be expected given the circumstances.
