For Liberal Bloggers, Libby Trial Is Fun and Fodder

by: Scarce

A pretty good story today about Jane and her crew.

For blogs, the Libby trial marks a courthouse coming of age. It is the first federal case for which independent bloggers have been given official credentials along with reporters from the traditional news media, said Robert A. Cox, president of the Media Bloggers Association. Mr. Cox negotiated access for the bloggers.

"My goal is to get judges to think of bloggers as citizen journalists who should get the same protections as other journalists get," Mr. Cox said.

Yeah (4.00 / 2)
The best traditional media story about blogs I've read in months. Front page center in today's dead-tree edition too.

Even if they got the story behind the credentials completely wrong... this Cox guy and the "Media Bloggers Association" did nothing to help get FDL access to the courtroom yet is trying to take credit for doing so.

I should have known better than to take that at face value.

Another wrong... (0.00 / 0)
...the article also says that Jane Hamsher worked for Ned Lamont, which is not true.

Overall, though, I agree - one of the best articles on blogging I've read in a long time, or ever.
