My Left Nutmeg

Thank You

(Helping people, not politicians. God, I am SO proud of this community! (And by that I mean the extended Connecticut blogosphere.) - promoted by BranfordBoy)

(Cross-Posted from Spazeboy)
I don't even know what else to say.  I checked out the Amazon Pay Page this afternoon and saw that $400 had rolled in over the last 2 days (I put it up at around noon on Thursday).  All together, I have received the $500 that my mom needs to get her transmission fixed.

Thank you so much!

So once I saw the good news, I knew that I couldn't sit on it any longer.  All through this process, I've avoided telling my mom that I was telling her story on the internet and soliciting contributions.  I figured that if I got none that what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her, and if I did raise the funds that she wouldn't be too picky about where they came from.

spazeboy :: Thank You
Thanks so very much.  (Have I said that?)

I had to call my mom and tell her that the money was on the way, because I knew it would help her sleep tonight--and it will.  I told her how I got it for her and she was bowled over.  She wants to know why so many people who don't know her would help her!  I told her it's because we take care of each other, because we're all in this world together, and because you all love me (OK, I didn't say that last part).

Seriously, thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

Immediately, she wanted to know who to thank.  I'll post a scan of her letter or card when I receive it.  I could not have helped Spazemom without the generosity of so many people who either contributed or who helped spread the word about her plight.

So for that, I say thank you.

As an final note, if you're here at Spazeboy.net because you heard about and want to help Spazemom, that mission is accomplished.  I'm no longer taking contributions for Spazemom, but a good friend of mine, of the local blogosphere, and the 4th CD Coordinator for the Lamont Campaign is still on the mend.  You can contribute toward Maura's medical bills by clicking on the PayPal link at the top-right corner of this page.

Details on Maura here and an update here.

You're a good son, Spazeboy. I hope everything works out for your mom, because, as we all know, mom's are pretty special people!

I'm so glad that you were able to raise the money you needed to help your Mom out Beau. I'm also really proud of your readers and this community for pitching in.

Wish your Mom all the best from us at MLN.

I was going to get around to donating.. (4.00 / 1)
but didn't (what else is new?) BUT this prompted me to get off my virtual ass and throw a little cash towards Maura's fund, it came out of my veg seed 'kitty'.
