Why War With Iran? Dollar dropped in Iran asset move

by: Connecticut Man1

Mon Dec 25, 2006 at 13:12:19 PM EST

Why the US really wants war with Iran:
BBC NEWS | Business | Dollar dropped in Iran asset move:
"Iran is to shift its foreign currency reserves from dollar to euro and use the euro for oil deals in response to US-led pressure on its economy.

In a widely expected move, Tehran said it would use the euro for all future commercial transactions overseas."

The last country that tried to switch to selling their oil in Euros? Iraq... Not long before they were illegally invaded under the bogus threat of impending mushroom clouds.

Cue the drumbeat of war...

Sound familiar? Yes. We all saw this coming.

Threats to Iran based on risk of US currency devaluation (4.00 / 1)
Thanks for this post, ConnecticutMan1. I wrote about this issue earlier. The US threats to Iran are based on the fear that Iran could hurt our economy by selling their oil in Euros and not Dollars and is not based on some threat of terrorism.

Also, the idea that Iran is a threat because it could somehow ¨wipe out Israel¨ is just laughable--Israel is a million times more militarily powerful than Iran. Iran is not stupid and knows that it would be suicide to attack Israel as Israel would then nuke the shit out of Iran in retaliation.

In fact, Israel is the only nuclear power in the Middle East and militarily more powerful than any of its regional foes...but unfortunately for Israel, some wars cannot be won militarily.

"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."--James Madison

War with Iran (4.00 / 1)
My only question is whether Bush's declaration of martial law and his self-appointment as President for Life will come before or after the invasion of Iran.  Onward Christian soldiers!!!
