Think Equal

Equal rights for all citizens.

You would think that it would be a no-brainer? Sadly there are many "no-brainers" that would like to ignore equal rights.

thats pretty scary stuff (4.00 / 1)
..if you've been in a hospital room waiting on word of a loved one.. this one really hits home :(

.Adding Another Dimension of Vituperation Toxicity to Blogging since 1999!.

Sda but true. (0.00 / 0)
But the simple fact that I did not have to ask for the right to marry the person of my choice is a right that Gay and Lesbian couples are restricted from having. The right to their own family.

This touches on rights to privacy, equality, and just basic decency, among other things.

blog envy (4.00 / 1)
BlueJersey is the leading NJ blog community. They're making TV ads and all we got for the election was Ned Lamont.

I'm jealous.

Seriously though, Juan Melli and the rest of the BlueJersey crowd are kicking some serious ass and are helping pave the way for local blog involvement in politics.

Disclosure: I'm proud to work for the Service Employees International Union

BUT (0.00 / 0)
They don't have ctblogger, ct bob, and spazeboy... So their videos aren't nearly as fun and entertaining. lol Though, I must admit BlueJersey's videos are highly polished and professional.

They are already near finishing a second add for their Think Equal campaign. It should be coming out soon.

Why can't we do the same? (4.00 / 1)
Where does BlueJersey get their money? Are the bloggers on that site more well connected than bloggers on this site? Is New Jersey wealthier than Connecticut? Or are the affluent of NJ more progressive than the affluent of Fairfield county?

I agree with your blog envy. I think it would be great if MLN'ers could rally around a progressive cause and sublimate all their discussions in cyberspace into something that could actually change more minds beyond the realm of the blogosphere.

It's a great ad (4.00 / 1)
We should partner with them and get it on the air in CT.

Here's what Canadians think (4.00 / 1)
Here's what Canadians think about same-sex marriage
http://www.youtube.c...

Also the Canadian House of Commons today voted down a motion to reopen the debate on gay marriage by a vote of 175 to 123 with twelve Tories breaking rank. Opponents still insisted they would continue the battle but it was widely agreed that this vote was the "final word" on the issue.

Very good ad. (4.00 / 1)
But would Apple be upset if their Mac/PC ad is being copied? Are ad ideas copyrighted? Is this ad going to be broadcast on New Jersey televisions?

On a separate note, I think what really scares the social conservatives is that once you give "a right", it's nearly impossible to take it back. That's why I don't think abortion will ever be illegal in this country, again. While I personally think that gay marriages should be legal and does not endanger the "sanctity of marriage" (ease of divorce does that), social conservatives realize this is the only time they can work against it effectively--when it is still not recognized by state (in NJ) or federal laws.
