Tonight is not the last chance to party with Ned!

by: Kim Hynes

Wed Dec 06, 2006 at 13:56:29 PM EST

For all of you up-staters . . . tonight's DFA Meetup will not be the last chance you will  have to see Ned in the near future.  I helping him plan a thank you party for all the campaign volunteers and supporters, which will take place in mid-January some time.  So, while everyone is very welcome to attend tonight's meetup in Norwalk, please don't worry that if it is too long a drive, and you can't make it. There will be another opportunity.

I will update more about the January gathering as I have more info . . .

But party we did. (0.00 / 0)
I got to meet or say hi again to lots of MLNer's.  That was fun.

CT Bob was there, Caffeinated Geek Girl (sorry I didn't get to meet you CGG!), MattW, Harriet, Sue, Lorenzo and friends (!), Kim, Aldon and Fiona Hynes, Maura and a cast of many more whom I did not know, necessarily.  A large screen TV with out-takes of Ned's commercials was keeping people roaring at the bloopers and pranks pulled.  Lots of fun.  There was an amazing spread of food there - thanks all who made me not have to worry about dinner!  Some DTC folks came, some other candidates and at least one Dem city council person, and of course Ned and Annie and Jim Dean.  It would appear CTBob got some video but he's on offseason schedule now so we can't be impatient!  Scott Kinnick and Kate worked extra hard to make the party a nice event, showing up at 4:30 and leaving probably after 10 pm.  THANKS!  And I'll bet Maura was in on it, thought I don't know for sure.  Thanks to DFA and to all who helped - it was fun to get together.

I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you too.

It was a great time though.  Thanks so much to the DFA for organizing the meeting.

Sad I missed it (0.00 / 0)
Had to cover a couple of big stories in Danbury but I'm happy the event was a hit!

and Photobucketed - a diary coming later today. I got there around 7:00, hoping to collect names for a raffle of Lorenzo's friends, but the place was already mobbed.  Next party!
Greenpeas, CT Bob, Neal Fink, Maura, Kim, Aldon, Ned, Jim Dean and the rest of the crew - it was great to see you!

ND HS Girls Hockey WON 5-3 (0.00 / 0)
It was a nailbiter towards the end.

Milford Alderman/woman/person Kerri Rowland is the Coach for Notre Dame High School's Girls' Hockey team. Last night they played Simsbury at Milford Ice Pavilion. And those Simsbury girls looked big.

Sorry I dcouldn't make it to the Norwalk event, but ya gotta have priorities, right?

Other sports news:
Bowl-a-thon for Toys for Tots Friday night -- Milford Dem DTC vs GOP DTC -- hottening up! Alderman Vetro bowled 200 in a practice session this week. Dems may rule/or rue the day. Another nail-biter that proves all the action ain't just in November...

Keep in mind for DTC recruits (0.00 / 0)
I don't know how you can ease it into the conversation, but see what you can find out about their bowling scores before you sign 'em on in Milford.

That's the problem with this damn Milford DTC bowl-athon no-ringers policy.  If we had that policy in state central.....or even if Sharon Ferrucci thought it was important...

no, forget it.

"Friendly" Competition (0.00 / 0)
It is a charity event.

But I suspect that those Dems who bowl on the Republican team will finally be ostracized [insert smiley face here].

Does Jim Amann get to "cameo bowl"?

Ned and Hockey (0.00 / 0)
Last night, Ned made a comment about watching some hockey recently.  He went on to talk about how after the primary, Lieberman spoke about it being half time.  Ned commented that in hockey there are THREE periods, and received great applause for the line.

Next time, let's hope he brings the full-body check to the game.

Convention, Primary, Election (0.00 / 0)
Those were the three milestones of Ned's campaign--or the buzzers at the end of the three periods--for me.

Thanks to everyone! (0.00 / 0)
It was a wonderful event, and the place was mobbed!  Ned had a really great time - I was surprised by how long he and Annie hung around.  I was so proud of Fiona for being a great hostess and also running the laptop while the commerical bloopers ran!  Thank you especially to everyone who stayed and cleaned up after we had to take a very tired girl home to bed.

I have a tentative date of January 11 for the next Lamont party, and we are thinking of New Haven for the location.  It is likely to be early evening - 6:30 or so.  I hope everyone who missed last nights festivities can join us then (and everyone who came also!).

Also - the leftover wine from last night will be making its way over to the MLN gathering tomorrow night!

Wow - I put a lot of exclamation points in my post! (0.00 / 0)
Note to self - that looks stupid - lay off the exclamation marks . . .
