Tomorrow is Free EC Day in Connecticut

by: CGG

Tue Dec 05, 2006 at 09:13:46 AM EST

Tomorrow Planned Parenthood of Connecticut is offering a free dose of Plan B emergency contraception at each of it's 18 CT locations.  Plan B is now available to women over the age of 18 without a prescription, but as you know there is no law in Connecticut that requires hospitals or pharmacies to keep the drug in stock.  Therefore PPC recommends that women keep a dose in their home in case they or another woman they know should need access to it.
CGG :: Tomorrow is Free EC Day in Connecticut
Yesterday I attended a press conference at Planned Parenthood HQ in New Haven and posted about the event over at CTLP.  So far the mainstream media has shown little to no interest in getting the word out about "Free EC Day" or Plan B in general.  But I think it's important to spread the word so that every woman who finds herself in need of ec can have access to it.

Tell the Men too (4.00 / 1)
I am no longer of breeding age (oh happy day!) but still think it is wise for anyone who is close to women or men of breeding age to have a Plan B pill or access to one.

I have advised the males in my immediate path to spread the word, in case their condoms break or even worse in case someone they know becomes a victim of rape.

I know we are not supposed to use that word but

rape. rape. rape.

Being realistic is the first step towards enacting change.

EC Update (4.00 / 1)
Susan Yolen from PPC on the "News" looking cool calm collected and saying that the abortion rate has decreased since the introduction of Plan B
vs
A man whose name and position I didn't catch saying that Plan B encourages sexual activity (I think he means between hetrosexuals).

[Kids: Please note that unprotected sex in any combination may expose you to HIV/AIDS. Wear a condom and/or other protection. Think first, not fast.]

Side note: The Anchorlady has a lilt to her voice when she says the word "rape" very cheerfully

the PPC comments on Ch. 12 were quite perky, too. n/t (0.00 / 0)
