Good job! Sounds like a typical Lieberman event. Dad was there circling the area with the Kiss Float -- but couldn't park anywhere because areas were blocked off!

and I did notice that very few if any cars drove by the press conference at 9:30.  I'm guessing that you were not allowed down that street at that time.

Joe Lieberman and George Bush believe that our govt should cut and run on capturing Osama Bin Laden so that Bush and the neocons could invade Iraq. Despite no Wmds and no links to 9/11, Lieberman supports that decision.

She got a Kiss button AND a chocolate donut from Lamont supporters. All Lamont supporters got from Lieberman was the Iraq War. How is that fair? Ultimately, I wish Marion Steinfels and Tammy Sun well in the future. Sean Smith and Dan Gerstein, not so much.

legally detain you for even a second in CT?

You might want to look into filing a complaint with the State of NY.  He can ask CT cops to speak to you, but I would have told him to prove he had any authority at all in Stamford. 

Maybe a complaint to the AG's office in CT would be a good idea.  I'm good friends with Dick Blumenthal now. :)

There may be some reciprocity agreement where he would have some authority with the MTA. 

First, he doesn't know Connecticut law on the subject.  Article 1 Section 5 is broadly construed and CGS 53-37 also seems favorable.

Second, even presuming he had the right to pull me aside for security purposes or to attain my identity, he
a)  had to be told by another cop to give me back my sign.
b)  once he ran the background check on me, he had no legal right to threaten me with jail if I put on the mask again. 

Ask Blumenthal about this, he obviously knows a zillion times more than I do.  I will look into the complaint aspect.
