Alan Gets Some Ink

Dan Gerstein babbles that the debates didn't do Alan Schlesinger any good. But it got him a nice big story in the New York Times.

Good Lord! Republicans read that paper!

BranfordBoy :: Alan Gets Some Ink
BTW, I had a very pleasant chat with Schlesinger after the debate. He told me he's read MyLeftNutmeg, which of course made me feel he's a delightful person. Seriously, though, he comes across as a very genuine guy, one who is willing to graciously acknowledge differences of opinion. And also as someone who holds principled positions (nutty tho' some of them may be). He tends to speak in  ideas rather than soundbites, which will almost certainly hurt him.

I sparred with him on his healthcare ideas and he gave as well as he got, although he failed to paper over the holes I pointed out.

In some long ago campaign, the question was floated about which candidate you'd prefer to have a beer (or was it a backyard barbecue?) with, and Schlesinger does very well by that standard.

getting the story right is the last thing a NYT reporter should be expected to do.

Paper of Record? Only if it's compared to the New York Post.

Social libertarian.

Lieberman telling the truth? (0.00 / 0)
For the first time I can recall in a long time, Joe Lieberman tells the truth about the race.
“With all respect to Alan Schlesinger,” Mr. Lieberman said last week, “this race is effectively a race between Ned Lamont and me, so a vote for Alan Schlesinger helps Ned Lamont.”

I think he's on to you BranfordBoy!
