Landrieu to Campaign for Lieberman at Rajun Cajun Tomorrow

by: spazeboy

Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 18:13:47 PM EDT

An elected Democrat comes to our state, and therefore stumps for the Democratic nominee?  Nope.  She's here for Joe.  To discuss post-Katrina FEMA reforms.  Irony alert?

I've added the two events to the MLN calendar.

One in Berlin at 12pm and another in Hartford at 1:30pm.

The location choice for the second event is particularly ballsy, considering that Lamont's convention tent was catered by Rajun Cajun in honor of Lieberman's paltry 42 minute hearing to confirm Michael Brown as director of FEMA.  Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that Joe Lieberman won't mind answering questions about the 42 minute confirmation hearing.

On a somewhat unrelated note...did Joe Biden ever catch that train?

I wish I could make that event...

Thanks Landrieu!!! (0.00 / 0)
Just like the establishment, she is giving the voters a bit "screw you!" by not supporting the nominee. What a sickening display.

"War does not determine who is right - only who is left." - Bertrand Russell

Will the Kiss float make this event? (0.00 / 0)
I'm sure Mary would love an up close and personal with the Kiss float.

Too bad.... (0.00 / 0)
...there's no float that could sum up Lieberman's 22 minute confirmation hearings for Heckuvajob Brownie. Or how utterly impotent the Esteemed Moderate Gentleman Whose Noble Bipartisanship Has Enabled Him To Get Results By Reaching Across The Aisle has proven to be in his efforts to get answers from the White House on Katrina.

Actually, fellow useless "moderate" Susan Collins, who was in town just last week, wasn't she, was Lieberman's partner-in-whining about how in spite of their abject servitude to the Rove agenda, they couldn't get any answers or results for the people of New Orleans.

Maybe some entreprising reporter will bring this up (/snark).

from today's events now. I'm sure Dad would love to attend.

Failure (0.00 / 0)
Lieberman was the oversight valve on Brown. Joe failed. Then the levies failed.

I'm Not Sure How... (0.00 / 0)
...you could do it to scale (maybe strings of Christmas tree balls?), but it'd be cool if you could put Mardi Gras beads on George 'n' Joe for the Kiss Float's Rajin' Cajun appearance.

Landrieu just lost her senate seat in 2008 (0.00 / 0)
Landrieu used to campaign as republican-lite.  Then when she trailed in the polls, she campaigned as a liberal-moderate-populist.  And so she won.

But this is the final straw with her.  She's a goner in 2008 even if it means the republican gets in.

Dems will pickup several other Senate seats across America to offset this but she has to go.  Enough is enough with this phony woman.

Joe Lieberman and George Bush believe that our govt should cut and run on capturing Osama Bin Laden so that Bush and the neocons could invade Iraq. Despite no Wmds and no links to 9/11, Lieberman supports that decision.

here's hopin' (0.00 / 0)
for a primary challenger.

Real damn shame too, after she made that great speech on the floor a few weeks back, saying she was tired of having her patriotism questioned by war supporters, and look where she is now. Pitiful.

Questions for Mary, Questions for Joe (0.00 / 0)
Why is Sen. Landrieu endorsing Sen. Lieberman when he voted against S. 3711, a bill to provide revenue sharing for Louisiana coastal reconstruction from new oil and gas leases?

Sen. Lieberman voted against cloture for the bill (which passed  86-12) and then was a no show for the next two votes but is clearly opposed based on his initial cloture vote?

http://projects.wash...

Sen. Landrieu called S.3711, "It is historic for Louisiana because our state is finally on the road to receiving a sizable portion of the revenue generated from oil and gas production off our shores, The bill (S.3711) gives Louisiana the necessary resources we need to restore our eroding coastline, build strong levees, and protect our people and infrastructure from future hurricane damage."

http://www.cityofvid...

Joe Lieberman voted against even giving this bipartisan bill a hearing! How is it in Louisiana's interests to have Joe Lieberman in the Senate? To confirm more Michael Browns and vote against the most critical bill for LA in a generation?

Is Sen. Landrieu endorsing Joe Lieberman because they are personal friends? Because Joe Lieberman is no friend of Louisiana.

Come on folks - It's all about the Benjamins, baby! (0.00 / 0)
FEMA is under Homeland Security. Joe is ranking member and will become chair if he wins and we take back the Senate.

At that point, Joe has full control of the Katrina $$.

What Mary forgets is that W. is going to try and screw LA to pick up her seat for the GOP in 2008. She's pretty much target #1 already. So like most of Joe's "friends", in the end Joe gets more than he gives.

It's Morning in America. Too bad Reagan's not here to see it. - Me

Will Joe Tell Landrieu What He Told Us? (0.00 / 0)
Will he dismiss talk of FEMA reform by saying to her that he "doesn't want to play the blame game"?

If there's ever a big hurricane in Connecticut, we're screwed.

Lets make sure (0.00 / 0)
We strip Mary Landrieu of her senority for ignoring the will of the Democratic Primary voters in CT.

the humor of this all is, (0.00 / 0)
Most CT voters have no idea who Mary Landrieu even is!

Just another DINO !

Did you all read the Morning's Courant and the article on Blue Dog Democrats running for office?

I seriously, am totally confused WHY these people are not Republicans!  Pro-Business (which means anti workers), anti abortion , no gun controls.

WHY would they call them selves a Liberal?  BEATS ME>

Will Mary Landrieu Repeat This Statement That Applies To Joe? (0.00 / 0)
Here's a beaut' She referring to Republicans but might as well be talking about Joe's support of the wrong war and covering up for George's mistakes.

In light of the rantings that went on for 30 minutes by two colleagues from the other side, I'd like to state for the record that America is not tired of fighting terrorism; America is tired of the wrongheaded and boneheaded leadership of the Republican party that has sent six and a half billion a month to Iraq while the front line was Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. That led this country to attack Saddam Hussein, when we were attacked by Osama bin Laden. Who captured a man who did not attack the country and let loose a man that did. Americans are tired of boneheaded Republican leadership that alienates our allies when we need them the most. Americans are most certainly tired of leadership that despite documenting mistake after mistake after mistake, even of their own party admitting mistakes, never admit they do anything wrong. That's the kind of leadership Americans are tired of." I'm not going to sit here as a Democrat and let the Republican leadership come to the floor and talk about Democrats not making us safe. They're the ones in charge and Osama bin Laden is still at loose—Senator Mary Landrieu (D) Louisiana

http://onegoodmove.o...

She might just as well have been referring to Joe. But will any media outlet ask her how she can endorse a candidate that supported all these boneheaded policies? How the National Guard deployed to Iraq could have helped save lives in Louisiana?

I'll bet the lazy media did none of that.
