| The poster child for their efforts is Gregg Hannan, an extremist who has scrubbed his web site of his more far-out positions in an effort to appear "mainstream." He is running in the 12th Senate district against the corruption-fighting Dem, Ed Meyer.
In something of a perfect political storm, Hannan has raised over $50,000 with the help of Jodi Rowland-Rell, who actually despises his hateful stands on social issues, but who desperately wants to rid the Senate of Meyer, who so brilliantly held Lisa Moody's corrupt feet to the fire. Any help you can give Ed will be welcome.
But this is only the most visible race. The Family Institutre has targeted 12 Senate races and 52 -- 52! -- House races. Most of their endorsed candidates are Republicans, as you might expect, but they list the following Dems in the Assembly as believers in their far-right agenda:
Rep. Dave Aldarondo, D, 75 - Waterbury (part)
Rep. Juan Candelaria, D, 95 - New Haven (part)
Rep. Mary Fritz, D, 90 - Cheshire (part), Wallingford (part)
Rep. Minnie Gonzalez*, D, 3 - Hartford (part)
Rep. Ted Graziani, D, 57 - East Windsor, Ellington
Rep. Antonio Guerrera, D, 29 - Newington (part), Rocky Hill, Wethersfield (part)
Rep. Marie Kirkley-Bey, D, 5 - Hartford (part)
Rep. Steve Mikutel, D, 45 - Griswold, Lisbon, Plainfield (part), Voluntown
Rep. Felipe Reinoso, D, 130 - Bridgeport (part)
Rep. Richard Roy, D, 119 - Milford (part)
Rep. Christel Truglia, D, 145 - Stamford (part)
The numbers refer to the district. If you live in one of these districts, you should contact your representative and ask them to disavow hate.
