CT-02: Nancy Johnson Helps Out Sicko Foley

by: BranfordBoy

Mon Oct 02, 2006 at 15:53:27 PM EDT

There's been an hue and cry over what to do with political contributions received from pedophile Congressman Mark Foley. The RNCC plans to keep the half milllion they got from Foley to help elect more "family values" phonis to the House.

What about Nancy Johnson?

In Connecticut's 5th District, Republican U.S. Rep. Nancy Johnson said she would return $1,000 that Foley's campaign donated to her re-election bid in December. She is running against Democrat Chris Murphy.

What a nice gesture, Nancy. Now he'll be able to use the money for his legal defense. Even the racist pig Senator George Allen will donate the money he got from Foley to an "appropriate charity."

Murphy and Johnson (0.00 / 0)
Chris Murphy has called on Johnson to join his demand that members of the House leadership resign if they knew about Foley's behavior and did not act to stop it.

WTNH reports that Johnson at first only asked for an investigation but Johnson's spokesperson went along with Murphy's demand when asked.

The AP reports on what the scandal could mean for the party:

In a twist on the old Watergate question, the Republican Party is struggling to answer: What did GOP leaders know of a congressman's salacious exchanges with underage male pages and when did they know it?

The truth could determine not only their own political futures but also whether the party can recover from the scandal surrounding former Republican Rep. Mark Foley -- and manage to remain in power on Nov. 7.

And from Mark Davis at WTNH on the local impact:

Nancy Johnson was chair of the House Ethics Committee back in 1996 when it investigated then House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

She later admitted that her role in the ethics committee hurt her in that year's election.

Now Johnson, like many other incumbent Republicans, could face another ethics dilemma this year.

The Corner Report notes that the first Johnson-Murphy debate will be on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. at Central Connecticut State University.  It will take place in the Torp Theater.

Ad: my opponent gives money to child molesters (0.00 / 0)
This is the ad Karl Rove would run in this situation: Nancy Johnson gives money to pedophiles.

If we can't trust Nancy Johnson to protect our nation's children, how can we trust her with the security of the nation?

Anyone got pictures of Nancy and Mark Foley together? Add, mix, heat.

I don't expect anyone on the Democratic side to go this far, but always keep in mind how hard the other side would hit us if the shoe were on the other foot.

This is a game changing moment. How we make use of it will determine the outcome of these close elections.
