Martha speaks (again)

by: ctblogger

Fri Jan 18, 2013 at 13:53:18 PM EST

I'm speechless.

First, Martha Dean is running around whining to anyone who would waste their time listening to her rant about the "unfair" attacks she received regarding her Sandy Hook trutherism posting...and now this.

Friends, let me be clear once again: I have never -- and do not -- endorse this video or any conspiracy theory making the rounds. This video is out there in circulation and my post asked only for comments on "what's wrong with this"? Comments of all sorts have come in on my page and elsewhere. The private messages that I have received, with first hand information -- information that will eventually come out and put many rumors to rest -- have convinced me that posting this specific video should have been done with a clear statement of my position at the outset. Those of you who are familiar with my page know that I generally try to avoid doing that to allow a free-ranging discussion. But, in this case, I agree with my critics that I should have done that or, better still in the view of some, not posted it at all. There will be times when I get it wrong, but you know I will always try to err on the side of a greater flow of information and a more robust discussion of issues and the importance questioning facts.

At this point I will leave my original post up so there is a clear record for anyone who wishes to check what I actually said.

To the victims and all those touched by this tragedy: know that you and your lost friends and family are in my thoughts and prayers, and in the thoughts and prayers of millions and millions of people from here around the world. I feel your deep sorrow. I offer my apology for any pain that my posting of the video that is circulating or the inquiry process, generally, may cause you. Know that we share the common objective of getting to the truth. I extend my my love and I offer my assistance to you in whatever way I can be of service to you personally in this situation.

- Martha Dean.

Ahem...Dean responds to comment on her initial Sandy Hook trutherism FB posting, Jan 14th:

Erik Smith: InfoWars is also the same group who has "evidence" Bush was the mastermind behind 9/11.

Martha Dean: Thanks, Eric. You are right yet, still, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Being wrong once does not mean always wrong. Repond to this info ... what's wrong here?

And who can forget this gem!
Martha Dean: Many, many, questions.... all we know is that so much of what happened -- before and after the shooting -- does not make sense. Read the comments in Rosie's posted article 93 comments above this one); people (without meaning any disrespect) are asking very good questions, but it is doubtful that we will ever get answers to these or the questions raised in the video in the original post above.

Yup...still an asshole.

When the mainstream media lies so much that people don't trust what they say. Now, I personally believe that we absolutely need to re-investigate 9/11.

On the other hand, I'm FROM sandy Hook, and it's just too painful to "go there." So, I'm not going to. I'm just glad the media circus has packed up and left...

But all this name-calling seems silly. Folks, the terms Truther or Conspiracy Theory should not be seen in a derogatory way.

I also lived in Sandy Hook (about 2 miles from the school)... (0.00 / 0)
...and the pain these truthers are causing to people in the area is beyond disgusting and someone who was the 2010 nominee for Attorney General should know better.

I Was Less Than 1/4 Mile From the WTC On 9/11 (0.00 / 0)
Right across the river in Jersey City on the shore and I watched it all, but could not get over there to help. We were all waiting for the firemen to get it under control, like they always did before. And then all hell broke loose. Twice. I didn't stick around to see WTC 7 also go straight down at free-fall speed, but I've seen the videos. I don't call myself a Truther, but I know what I experienced... And I know many "family members" that lost loved ones, and that have the same questions I do. But that's not what this Diary is all about, this paragraph is just context.

My daughter is now 19, and she went to Kindergarten at Sandy Hook School. I remember the place, and I remember the Guidance Counsellor that died. I remember Lanza too. I think I last saw him in 2008 at the Big Y uptown. Just another teenager, but that's all I know. My "opinion" is that something went terribly wrong with the SSRIs he was taking, and I really doubt he used a rifle, which they originally reported was left in the car out front anyway.

I think there's so much pain for us that any conjecture is just a buzz in the background. It was the media circus that made it so much more bizarre. And I absolutely agree with you that Martha shouldn't have done what she did.
