Dennis House has the latest on one the more interesting mayoral races for next year.
The race for mayor of New Haven in the election of 2013 will begin next week. During a taping of Face the State set to air Sunday, State Representative Gary Holder-Winfield announced he will set up an exploratory committee for mayor within the next few days.
Winfield told me he feels current mayor John DeStefano isn't "hearing people," and cited the mayor's 20 years in office as a reason. "By February, I will make a decision on whether to run," Holder-Winfield said.
If Holder-Winfield throws his hat into the race, it's safe to say that DeStefano will have a serious primary threat.
