| Occupy Wall Street may have claimed another victim. Check out the official website of the South Windsor Republican Party: With a big logo and welcome message from their Chairman Kathy Daugherty, it appears to be a rookie effort by a overwhelmed volunteer with limited web design skills. This isn't the Linda McMahon campaign after all, but passable for a municipal race right? Wrong! Only if you buy up all the similar domains! Surf on over to: www.southwindsorrepublicans.com A quick redirect, to new domain: www.toorichtofail.com The reader is now greeted with a cigar smoking, effete looking fella, swilling single malt, smugly proud of being ensconsed in the 1%. Looks like he clearly afford to say "NO":
"Too Rich To Fail"? More like an #EpicFail! Clearly, not what local Republicans had in mind. Claiming credit for this parody site is a group calling itself #OccupySouthWindsor, apparently upset at an alleged local Republican hack blocking a project potentially generating thousands of jobs providing a living wage.
What's worse: A satirical takedown of the South Windsor Republicans looking more professional than the real Republican site, complete with YouTube video ads attacking local Republicans? Or violating of the first commandment of web development: Don't be cheap! Spend some extra money to lock up your web presence! Either way it's a Jane Corwin nightmare. You remember Corwin, the Tea Party backed Republican loser in New York’s 26th Congressional race? She made national news after she failed to secure her domain presence. Looks like the 99% here in Connecticut have called out local Republicans and taught a tough web design lesson in a municipal race. |
