After doing a recent media blitz on the state of fiscal affairs, today Congressman Jim Himes took to the floor to elaborate on the need for Congress to honor it's financial commitments and to stop playing politics with the country's debt.
On the Floor of the House, Rep. Jim Himes (CT-04) called on his colleagues to recognize that we must pay for the tax breaks, wars, generous benefits and other spending the House has already approved. The House must honor its role as "stewards of the full faith and credit of the United States."
Unfortunately, I don't think Republicans are getting the message...and it would be refreshing if Himes would state that honoring our financial commitment would never include screwing the middle class at the expense of the rich.
