TPM: Lieberman Mulls A Run As A Dem, Will Meet With DSCC Chair Murray

Lieberman Mulls A Run As A Dem, Will Meet With DSCC Chair Murray
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) says he will meet with freshly-minted DSCC chair Patty Murray, likely early next year, about his re-election options for 2012.

No discussions have taken place yet, but he said that some Senate Democrats are rooting for him.

"Some of my colleagues in the Democratic caucus have been very gracious and kind saying they hope I run as a Democrat," he told TPM in an interview Wednesday. "

SNIP

The Audacity of Hubris!!  Lieberman looks to Senate Dems to confirm whether or not to run for re-election as a Democrat.  He doesn't even bother to check with Democrats in his home state.

This Connecticut Democrat will NEVER support Lieberman for elected office again.  Should we tell Sen. Murray how we feel about Lieberman and why we ran him out of the Party in 2006?

We Certainly Should Tell Senator Murray! (0.00 / 0)
And everyone else in Washington who might be encouraging him. . .  The last thing our state needs is a good reason for Democratic voters to stay home.  The only correction I would make to your posting is that we didn't run him out of the Party in 2006; he left the party after he lost the primary -- instead of gracefully supporting Ned.  Then, if that weren't enough, he supported McCain-Palin. Either Joe should retire, or run as a Repug . . . The Senate is hamstrung enough without having to worry about whether his highness will "play ball" on a particular issue, or threaten to filibuster.
