Ray Hernandez Loses U.S. Senate Race

by: BranfordBoy

Wed Nov 03, 2010 at 01:01:36 AM EDT

Poor Ray Hernandez.

The New York Times' intrepid boy reporter saw his dream of becoming the next Woodward-Bernstein evaporate with Richard Blumenthal's decisive victory over Hernandez's patron, sex and violence purveyor Linda McMahon.

Sorry Ray. It turns out (surprise, surprise) that a handful of verbal slips in the course of a distinguished 20-year career of service to the people of Connecticut does not equal Watergate.

looks like Mertens got (0.00 / 0)
his 1% of the vote - allowing CFL ballot access in 2012.

I hope that's true (4.00 / 1)
If it is, we need to immediately work to take the party back from Mertens and position it to be useful in opposing Lieberman in two years.

will he run? (0.00 / 0)
McMahon is already salivating about a possible 3-way race with Joe LIE and ???

I don't think he'll give it up (0.00 / 0)
easily. How's this one: drag him back (or just follow him next year) to the He-Man Women-Hater Desert Festival, take photos of his latest costume, and then demand either Power of Attorney or voluntary commitment?

Hernandez was not permitted to write about the election last night-NYT is wise to him now (0.00 / 0)

Hernandez has not been permitted to write about the Connecticut races in more than three weeks.  When I and others wrote to the NYT public editor complaining about how Hernandez twisted his coverage of the first Blumenthal/McMahon debate, we received letters back acknowledging that they had received a great deal of criticism of Hernandez' reporting, and that they had spoken with his editor at the Times.  Hernandez had devoted more than half of his entire article to the Vietnam issue, which only took up a tiny fraction of the entire debate.

But Hernandez is still demonstrating that he's a right-wing shill with his reporting this morning:

Republicans captured six Congressional seats in New York and New Jersey on Tuesday night, riding a wave of voter dissatisfaction that swept Democrats across the country out of power.

Now if memory serves, New York and New Jersey have way more than six congressmen.  And most of them are Democrats who won last night.  And New York reelected its two Democratic US senators.  So this "wave of voter dissatisfaction" that Hernandez is talking about in NY and NJ actually strongly reelected most Democratic officials.

I think it's time for Raymond Hernandez to follow that other useless shill Judith Miller to Fox Noise.  He's a disgrace to the New York Times.

Ray Hernandez is an Idiot! (0.00 / 0)
Ray,

Better luck next time that you try to immune someone's reputation.

Go an investigate the New York State unemployment compensation, first hand - shill.

Why not take the Connecticut for Lieberman Party back? (0.00 / 0)
That would be so fun! And just imagine....

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
