Enough with the mud - how about the issues?

As the Election Day nears, the race for Governor is a dead heat. According to the latest polling, 6% of voters don't know who they're voting for yet. At Working Families, we look past all the mudslinging and focus instead on where the candidates stand on the issues that can make a difference in ordinary people's lives.

And on the issues that matter most, Dan Malloy is the clear choice.

Not sure how you're voting yet? Keep reading for our one-minute voter guide.

Are you a Working Families voter? Take the "I'm voting Working Families" pledge.

OUR ONE-MINUTE VOTER GUIDE

Every year, Working Families examines all the candidates -- Democrats and Republicans -- and only supports those with a real track record of backing policies that will make a difference in the lives of ordinary families.

There are many important issues, and big differences between the candidates. Here's two issues that really show why Dan Malloy is the right choice for ordinary working class families.

Joe Dinkin :: Enough with the mud - how about the issues?
OUTSOURCING
Tens of thousands of decent jobs in Connecticut have been outsourced to other states or other countries. Working Families supports legislation to end tax breaks for companies who send jobs out of state and a policy to allow the state give preference to contractors who will keep the work in Connecticut.

Dan Malloy supports both policies to stop the outsourcing of good jobs.
Tom Foley opposes both policies.

PAID SICK DAYS
For hundreds of thousands of working parents in Connecticut, losing pay can be as easy as catching the flu and a child's doctor's appointment could cost you your job. In this difficult economy, no one should be forced to choose between their family's health and their job. Working Families supports legislation to allow workers to earn paid sick time.

Dan Malloy has vocally supported a paid sick days policy and testified for it at the legislature.
Tom Foley opposes a basic paid sick days policy.

What it boils down to is this: Dan Malloy shares the values of ordinary working class and middle class families. Tom Foley comes from a different world, the world of Greenwich CEOs and yacht owners. He'll never really understand the struggle ordinary working families are facing.

When you vote on the Working Families ballot line, your vote counts for Dan Malloy, but it also send a message to all politicians that you want them to fight -- to really fight -- for the issues that matter to you.

It's time to focus on the issues -- not the smears, the money race, the personalities or the polling -- and vote our values, by voting for Dan Malloy on the Working Families ballot line.

Can we count on you to vote Working Families? Take the pledge.

And please help spread the word by sharing our one-minute voter guide on sharing our one-minute voter guide on Facebook.

Don't use Facebook? You can just paste this guide into an email to your friends and family.

Now go vote.

I am just imagining how Dems might feel (0.00 / 0)
If MOST of their traditional voters voted that line. Think they'd get the message?

Probably not.

BTW, when/how do we find out how many votes the Dems got on the WFP line?
