Schiff's 'Liberal' McMahon nads commercial

by: Scarce

This ad for Peter Schiff went up yesterday. As these things go it's a pretty good one but why did he wait until almost the last minute to put it out there?

An attempt to mark her as a liberal... (0.00 / 0)
I can only see that as (maybe) hurting her in the primary but helping her in an election. After all, this is a very blue Connecticut regardless of how far to the right Peter Schiff and some republicans that are not electable state-wide are...

Doubtful (4.00 / 1)
And I imagine Schiff and Simmons will keep this sniping going even after the primary, causing other Republicans to think twice before voting for her. Blumenthal's favorables among Republicans are fairly high anyway. McMahon could be down to the GENERIC REPUBLICAN level by the election, which would make spending all those millions even more ridiculous.

You really have to feel sorry (0.00 / 0)
for the people in this country that there are actually  stupid enough to have given this guy their hard earned money.

Peter Schiff had about $2.5mil (0.00 / 0)
..in individual contributions as of 6/30/10.

considering (0.00 / 0)
the voters he wants to attract, this was a very well done ad.

Will it win over women? No, it's designed to get the Limbaugh/Beck voter to not vote for McScum. In that case it works, and works well.

If she actually wins and goes up against Bloomy, he should keep the visual in the can for when she goes negative, but my hope is that he will follow the Reganesque model of the Bright Tomorrow's rather than go into the gutter. But having a gutter ad ready to go wouldn't hurt.

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

When she goes negative? (0.00 / 0)
Haven't you gotten McMahon's latest mailer, continuing to focus on Bloomy's Vietnam Flap? She's gone negative, even before the Republican nod is secured.

She has no choice. (0.00 / 0)
Bloomy's positives are WAY too high. Over 40% within the GOP if I remember correctly and over 50% with indies.

Whomever makes the General has a very big hill to climb. Thus, the only option is to so pollute the dialog with lies and negative campaigning so as to attempt to lower his positives and increase his negatives.

This, no matter who runs against Bloomy, it's going to be a mudfest from the GOP. It's the only chance they have.

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

Blumenthal is still in the 60's with indies (4.00 / 1)
McMahon is still mired in the 30's with them. Therein lies her problem: money can't buy instant credibility.
