CT Democratic State Party Gets a New Communications Director

by: Matt Zagaja

( - promoted by ctblogger)

At my last Democratic Town Committee meeting our Democratic State Committeeperson told me that the state party got a new communications director recently. Now if you go to the state democratic party website you can see events are now updated, there was an event e-mail sent out today, and the twitter has come alive. I hope the new communications director is reading MLN and might consider introducing herself. I'm looking forward to see a lot more stuff coming out of the state party in the coming months.

Could you please post this email and/or put the events on the calendar list at left on this site?

I am not being lazy, but I didn't receive it. I am a member of teh Milford Democratic Town Committee so you would thnk I would get this sort of communication but perhaps my spam blocker got it.

Thanks.

Hi Tessa (0.00 / 0)
It was a last minute invitation to the Newington Democratic Town Committee's Comedy Night last night. It's possible that you didn't get it because they restricted the e-mail blast geographically or something like that. But if I get anything more in the future I'll be sure to submit them.

Thanks Matt Zagaja and - Uh Oh Spaghetti-Os (another recall) (0.00 / 0)
To all MLN readers: Please don't be shy about posting to the calendar. It helps everyone to be more knowledgeable and hopefully gets the word out.

Some Posts may seem "off topic" since the stories may not be specifically political in nature but I think we can do great service to our extended community when we post about non-political stuff as well.

I am defending this out of self-interest, of course, since I am particularly guilty of this with Food Recall warnings and HIV testing posts. But as long as I have info I feel compelled to share it.

PS - I just ran into Rosa DeLauro at Gary Holder-Winfield's house and asked her about the Fruit Loops and other cereals recall. She is more than concerned that it is so difficult to get the word out to citizens when there are these food dangers. And...

She just alerted me to Spaghetti-Os being recalled.

WASHINGTON, June 17, 2010 - Campbell Soup Supply Company, LLC, a Paris, Texas, establishment is recalling approximately 15,000,000 pounds of "SpaghettiOs with Meatballs" canned products due to possible under-processing, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The following products are subject to recall: [View Labels]

   * 14.75-ounce cans of "SpaghettiOs" with Meatballs, bearing the identifying product code "U5" on the bottom of the can.
   * 14.75-ounce cans of "SpaghettiOs" A to Z with Meatballs, bearing the identifying product code "4N" on the bottom of the can.
   * 14.75-ounce cans of "SpaghettiOs" Fun Shapes with Meatballs (Cars), bearing the identifying product code "KS" on the bottom of the can.

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number "EST 4K," as well as a "Use By" date between June 2010 and December 2011 ink-jetted on the bottom of each can. These products were manufactured between December 2008 and June 2010 and distributed to retail establishments nationwide.

I realize I don't watch as much local news as I should...and I only read the online versions of the papers...but shouldn't there be huge notifications going out about this???

I am very concerned as well that this is just the sort of "food" being donated to the pantries and food banks.

Return for Refund! Demand that it not be Donated! Thank Rosa DeLauro for watch dogging this for us!
