I thought this commercial very nicely mentioned Dan Malloy's humble beginnings and ability to empathize with working class people who struggle to make ends meet.

Not getting involved (4.00 / 3)
Please guys, can we NOT have another 200-comment thread debating which of us is the biggest asshole?

Just dropping in to say I'm not dropping in. Peace.

In defense of brutally long threads (0.00 / 0)
There was a lot of good material in that thread -- discussions of food prices and soda taxes and the like -- among all the crap. Sort of like everywhere else on the internet.

A Little Too Much Expense Spared on the Production Values (0.00 / 0)
Obviously the purpose of this ad is just to keep it positive and build up Dan's name recognition, not to create a cinematic masterpiece... but aren't the production values of this spot excessively crappy?  I mean like "Lisa Wilson-Foley for Lt Gov" crappy? I'm all for keeping costs down, but you don't want to go so low-budget that you come off as some kind of third-tier candidate.

Old Materials (0.00 / 0)
What are you going to do? Crusty old film footage just looks that way.

I was surprised that his first ad out of the gate wasn't giving us more on the "campaign of ideas" front, from the way his supporters talk, but I guess you have to get more widely known first. I thought that Ned's ads were almost absurdly detailed (rattling off his policy bullet points), which is a contrast I didn't expect.
