Lieberman: I must smite this public option

by: Scarce

Mon Nov 09, 2009 at 07:04:40 AM EST

Lieberman also says wants a probe of the Ft Hood "Terrorist attack", jumping to conclusions as ever. Lieberman said evidence indicates that Major Nidal Malik Hasan was probably a "self-radicalized, homegrown terrorist."

LIEBERMAN: A public option plan is unnecessary. It has been put forward, I'm convinced, by people who really want the government to take over all of health insurance. They've got a right to do that; I think that would be wrong.

But worse than that, we have a problem even greater than the health insurance problems, and that is a debt - $12 trillion today, projected to be $21 trillion in 10 years.

WALLACE: So at this point, I take it, you're a "no" vote in the Senate?

LIEBERMAN: If the public option plan is in there, as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote because I believe debt can break America and send us into a recession that's worse than the one we're fighting our way out of today. I don't want to do that to our children and grandchildren.

Today's Bridgeport's big day!

WATERBURY, Conn. -  A Connecticut judge will be deciding when to release thousands of pages of documents connected to sexual abuse lawsuits settled by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport.

A hearing is set for Monday at Waterbury Superior Court, a week after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal by the diocese to block the release of the documents.

But worse than that, we have a problem even greater than the health insurance problems, and that is a debt - $12 trillion today, projected to be $21 trillion in 10 years.

Our problem is Health Insurance.  The cure is Health Care w/o the overhead of Insurance.

The cure for Liberbluster is are Debt Panels to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of the phony wars, outsourcing of the military, and lack of financial regulation that got us here.

You could say we owe a debt to our GOP Senator.

A nice list, along with downloadable PDF document of Joe's right winged lurch. Why Joe, why?

While Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) has fought for progressive policies in the past - such as protecting the environment and expanding civil rights - his recent record demonstrates that he's a progressive no more. As this report documents, Lieberman has embraced the right wing on far more than foreign policy. In fact, he has betrayed progressive principles on a variety of domestic issues. As he has lurched to the right, Lieberman has actively worked to undermine the progressive agenda.

Maybe some estate planning for a comfortable retirement in 2012? A nice waterfront estate?

This is a good read:

In light of the Independent Senator from Connecticut's revelation that he will try to block Democratic health care reform, Media Matters Action Network highlights Sen. Lieberman's past relationship with the private health care industry.

Bitter Joe (0.00 / 0)
Joe lost as Al Gore's VP candidate, then he was humiliated in the primaries during his own bid for the Presidential nomination. Following that, the Connecticut Democrats rejected him for renomination to the Senate. He is furious and this bitter anger and resentment has inflamed Joe's already legendary vindictiveness. He is out to just screw everybody who couldn't see that he should be President.
Despite never winning the office, he is acting as if he had the power of the veto - "I will not allow this vote . . . ."
Time to away Joe, before your  drown in your megalomania.

The last line of the previous post should have read -
"Time to go away Joe, before you drown in your megalomania."
You probably figured that out, anyway. Somehow my pre-post edit didn't stick.

no public option (0.00 / 0)
Without a public option how does this trough for the insurance companies get filled? I bet there is an ugly surprise for every working person in CT. The demicans in dc must be out of their minds. Joe's latest action is sinking to a new low, and that is a headline you won't see every  day. Hopefully the rest of the club will defend their own again,a chairman talking about campaigning for the opposition what a novel approach.
