"We're going to work with Senator Dodd to go as far with this as we can."

by: CaptCT

Mon Mar 16, 2009 at 13:41:59 PM EDT

Tom Swan nails it at Friday's press conference. With the exception of CTNewsJunkie, the state media essentially ignored this event on credit card reform (not surprising), but we won't. This is video from the event mentioned in an earlier diary.

It's worth hearing what Swan, the director of the Connecticut Citizens Action Group, has to say about CCAG and the plan to "work with" Senator Dodd and to "push" for reform:

Right now, Dodd's legislation, the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act has 17 cosponsors.

Senator Lieberman needs to cosponsor this too.

Thanks CaptCT (4.00 / 1)
Thanks for posting this over here, I had forgotten to share my videos from Friday's event with the MLN community.  Other clips from the event can be viewed on our website.

Regarding the media blackout on the press conference, there were a handful of media outlets present but they all seemed more interested in using the event as an opportunity to ask questions about other things.

Clearly, there are other things going on that the press needs to be asking about, I just didn't know that there was some sort of "one story per event" rule.  (Christine Stuart, as always, proves herself the exception by publishing two stories from the same event).

Disclosure:  I am the Online Organizer for Connecticut Citizen Action Group (CCAG)
