There's a long piece in the Courant today detailing the financial intricacies of Dodd's real estate dealings over the years. He's obviously now trying to get this stuff out into the open before any more political damage is done. I'm not convinced this article helps him though. Certainly the title doesn't.

"These were pretty transparent. They've been reported widely in the press, particularly the Irish cottage," Dodd said. "It's fairly routine and non-controversial in my mind."

But he recognizes that not everyone in the body politic feels the same way. And he knows he's taken a beating in opinion polls.

"It used to be there were political seasons, and I know the Republican National Committee is targeting me and I'm more than familiar with the polling numbers and this stuff hurts," Dodd said.

It's a long article in Courant, but no actual allegations, no findings of wrongdoing.  Just a Fox News-like article seeming to suggest wrongdoing without actually coming up with anything.  I'm ticked off at Dodd for his support for Lieberman, in effect giving the back of his hand to Ned Lamont.  But I don't see anything wrong in his real estate transactions, and neither does the Hartford Courant.  If they did, they would have blared it to the world by now.  And Kevin Rennie's sleazy article suggesting wrongdoing with the Irish house, but laying out not one single fact pointing to wrongdoing was just dirty journalism- plain and simple.
