Jim Himes on Capitol Hill

A couple of clips from Jim Himes' (CT-04) first week in office. In the first, Rep. Jim Himes before House Financial Services Committee questioning Fed Vice Chair Donald Kohn. On the floor yesterday, Himes remarks on the draft recovery bill. A welcome change, no doubt, to have a representative who actually understands the issues involved, rather than simply the politics.

It was refreshing indeed to hear a congressman from Fairfield County speak clearly and succinctly about a national issue for the first time in more than two decades.  Gone is the jibberish and double-talk of Both Ways Shays.  And in spite of a bit of first-time jitters that created the phrase "beleaguered American homer", I'm willing to overlook that and congratulate myself on a November vote well cast.
