Your Quote of the Day

by: Scarce

Thank God she's not going to have to be president from day one. McCain's going to be alive and well."

-- Joe Lieberman, to the Stamford Advocate. D'oh.

Hedging his bet (0.00 / 0)
From the same article:

"Lieberman said if Obama wins on Election Day, he will support his presidency."

Even Joe can tell which way the wind blows.  And Joe blows with the wind.

Joe just blows, period. (4.00 / 4)

For 5 years Lieberman ran his entire Political life (0.00 / 0)
in order to be in the perfect position to be McCains VP pick in 08.

When the time came for Joe's "good Freind John McCain" to repay  the dept for all that groveling McCain proved himself a coward by succumming to the radical right wing and picking Palin who turned out to be an anvil disquised as a lifejacket.

There's little doubt that if McCain had picked Lieberman for VP the Republican convention would have been blown up but soon after all the wingnuts would have "come  home".  A "run up the middle" that a McCain/Lieberman ticket would have employed would be in a much better position to win than the incompetent far right McCain/Palin campaign run has today.

Liebermans long slide into oblivion has 4 years left.It will be a slow and very painful end and when it's over he'll be the lonliest man in the Senate.

My strategy for Joe (0.00 / 0)
Hire him to work in the administration, get him out of the Senate, hold a special election, and then find a reason either to sack him or simply work around him. You know, like put him in charge of Homeland Security, divide it back up  into constituent parts, and have no role left for him.

End of "four more years" scenario.

I Like Your Strategy... (0.00 / 0)
...but I'd make him Ambassador to Fiji or Burkina Faso or Andorra. Then you don't even have to bother firing him!

Once his Senate term is up (0.00 / 0)
he'll never even visit Stamford again.

New Haven threw him out and he slinked back to Stamford but he's already worn out that welcome.

Stamford (0.00 / 0)
Joe's got friends, family and history in Stamford.  He could live there on Strawberry Hill quite happily.  Nobody's going to make his life uncomfortable in Stamford.

maybe you're right (4.00 / 1)
But Joe is a creature of Washington through and through. He'll probably get a cushy gig working for some conservative think tank masquerading as a political centrist all the while urging us to attack random countries for no reason.

"There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning." - Warren Buffet
