(Chris Shays said Sarah Palin is "Awesome!" I wonder what CT's animal lovers would say? - promoted by CaptCT)

This ad deserves a lot of play. From the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund.

Please show everyone you know this ad. Is this what she means by being a pitbull with lipstick? Sickening.

Finally (4.00 / 1)
An ad which would give a lot of Palin's supporters or sympathizers some pause. If only they could see it.

Help show it in battleground states.

The arc of history is long, but it bends toward justice. --Martin Luther King, Jr.

Victims paying for rape evidence-gathering tests confirmed (0.00 / 0)
apparently the Police Chief she fired in Wasilla had a contingency budget he used for paying for rape exams.

Under Palin, the new Chief reduced the budget and Palin signed off on it.  Thus, the practice of having victims pay to be examined to see if they had in fact been raped is one that started under Palin, and finished a year later when the state legislature made it illegal.

Another potential ad that could give supporters pause. This is not about "keeping the baby," it's about compassionate and fair treatment for victims of sexual assault.

Just to add to the WTF list up here with the aerial wolf hunting...

So much for "compassionate conservtism". n/t (0.00 / 0)

The Obama campaign should use it (0.00 / 0)
..if it is completely 100% accurate. Take the gloves off now.

I agree that the Obama campaign needs to take their gloves off (0.00 / 0)
But, I think ads like this work better coming from outside of the campaign--like this independent Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund. It gives it more crediblity among the unaffiliated in America.

The only problem is if that Action Fund doesn't have enough funds to show it to key states, where Palin's popularity is helping McCain break the threshhold of winning that whole state's EV come November. I'm thinking Colorado and Michigan, maybe.

Any liberal billionaires out there?

Try George Soros (0.00 / 0)
He can be contacted at the Open Society Institute
in New York.  Here's their website:

Surprisingly (0.00 / 0)
I have not heard from George Soros at all during this election cycle. He has fallen off the media radar screen of late. His anti-Bush stance had been legendary. But, I don't know what he has done this year.

Worse, Shays supports this woman (0.00 / 0)
This is the definition of hypocrisy. Shays sits on the friends of animals caucus, while he's endorsing a woman who promotes aerial hunting of wolves and gives out $150 bounties for each dead animal.

Shays on Palin: She's Awesome! (0.00 / 0)

Perhaps Shays Misspoke (0.00 / 0)
"Awesome" isn't quite right.

How about "awful?"  Or "audacious?"

Or "AUDITorily challenged?"

Or he might try: "Awe shucks, m'am; you sure pack one terrific moose burger!"

Lest we forget, Shays has received an endorsement from the League of Conservation Voters. Hey! What difference do a few less bears and wolves make in the larger scheme of things?  Environmental protection? Old hat.  Drill, drill, drill in ANWR! Now THAT'S CHANGE . . .

Disgusting (0.00 / 0)
I cannot bring myself to watch it.

A Society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable.

....which Mahatma Gandhi said inclued animals.

"Brutal" ad to play in Ohio. (0.00 / 0)
Read this inadvertently in LA Times online:

Also Sunday, the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund announced it would run the first ad to specifically target Palin. The ad, to run in Ohio, focuses on her support for aerial hunting of wolves and shows gruesome footage of a hunt and a mortally wounded wolf.

"Sarah Palin not only condones the aerial hunting of wolves and bears, she actively promotes it," the organization said in a statement. "She has even gone so far as to propose a bounty of $150 for every severed left foreleg of a wolf the hunters can produce."
