See what happens when McCain is taken off the script and forced to answers real questions

by: ctblogger

(Not state related but this is a very telling glimpse into the man who running for President that shouldn't go overlooked. - promoted by ctblogger)

Picture 12

AMERICAblog posted an interview John McBush did with local reporter Rob Caldwell of WCSH in Portland, Maine.

For those who are concerned about the rise of McBush in the polls, this should bring you some comfort. Take note of McCain's defense of Palin about 1 and 1/2 minutes into the interview.

Simply put, when McCain is forced to answer questions...he has no answers.

In this small exchange, a local reporter shows the mainstream media how to do their job by refusing to allow McCain to spin his way out of answering direct questions and with less than 55 days until the general election, this line of questioning is long overdue.

It's simple...The McCain campaign is nothing more than a list of dishonest "muddy the water" sound bites geared more to winning a 24-hour news cycle as opposed to talking about real issues. This carefully crafted spin of deceit hinders the public from having a honest discussion about how we as a people move forward and repair the eight years of damage President Bush has created for this nation (you know, the same President McCain agreed with over 90 percent of the time).

In a time in the campaign where the media is drinking the "lipstick on a pig" Kool-Aid instead of forcing candidates to address serious topics that are affecting average Americans (i.e., the rise in people unemployed, rising cost of energy, how to best address the health care crisis, etc) it's refreshing to see that there is at least one reporter who didn't fall for McCain's spin and made the honest attempt to hold "The Maverick" accountable for his past statements.

Lets hope for more lines of questioning from reporters like Caldwell and more straight talk answers like this from McCain...

UPDATE: Seth Colter Walls of HuffPost took the task in breaking down every single lie McCain told in the interview.

Wow (0.00 / 0)
Sarah Palin knows more about energy than anybody in the universe! Ever!

"There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning." - Warren Buffet

Correction (0.00 / 0)
McCain's exact quote was, ". . . she [Sarah Palin} knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America."

If true, we are fucked.

Leadership Experience (0.00 / 0)
I have yet to see anyone ask McCain about his leadership experience.  If 18 months leading Alaska is so critical a component of qualifying Palin.  And leading a group of organizers is insufficient then:  Exactly what is McCain's leadership experience...flying a plane alone?

To me, in the Gibson intervew, Palin comes across as very cold.  Is that from Alaska too?  Would that qualify her as an expert in fighting the cold war?

On Russia (0.00 / 0)
In last night's "epic interview" on ABC Palin said she whould push for admitting Georgia into NATO.  She also said we would have to go to war with Russia if the Russians attacked Georgia.

We are fucked even more, if this is being "right about Georgia and Russia" as McCain said.

She still needs to do her homework (0.00 / 0)
Joe Lieberman didn't teach her enough...

You don't get into NATO because the US wants you there. You have to be admitted into MAP. This is a multi-year program (10+ years) in which you have to get up to speed for admission - and it sort of ensures that the government is stable. And one of the admission criteria is that you have no border disputes. Bush, McSame and even Obama support Georgia going into MAP. But MAP is NOT NATO and does not get treated like NATO. In fact border disputes would ensure Georgia wouldn't get into NATO.

Not only did she fail to answer the question right ("Charlie, Georgia's admission into NATO would require them to complete the MAP process and have no border disputes before acceptance. This is a hypothetical that couldn't happen since just getting admittance into NATO means that this issue would have been resolved.") he response showed that she had a total lack of knowledge on how NATO is and how NATO works.

Wednesday two Russian long range strategic bombers (their equiv of our B-1) landed in Venezuela. Venezuela and Russia are going to have a joint forces training operation in the Carib. This comes after Venezuela outed the US Ambassador on Tuesday for acting against the interests of the Venezuelan government. The Carib exercise seems to be a Russian response to our recent exercise in the Black Sea.

Are the GOP fucking NUTS!?!?! Eight years ago we had a working relationship with the worlds primary "other" superpower in relieving tensions and making the world safer. We were rolling back the hands of the doomsday clock. But after eight years of the village idiot in power we are seeing signs of a returning cold war. And the best that the GOP can put up to lead this country is a man who ranked bottom in his navel class, is 72 years old and who has had cancer 4 times, and a heartbeat away a woman who doesn't know what the "Bush Doctrine" is and threatens to go to war with Russia over an impossible hypothetical.

Why the hell don't we have a 20 point lead for Obama? What did they do, copy Lamonts after-primary battle plan?

The question is not what you are, we already determined that, we are now negotiating price.

BoysBoysBoys, lighten up on the F word (0.00 / 0)
Are you fucking crazy using "fuck" all over the place when little tiny bitty small kids might be reading this blog?

They might learn the bad word.

Also: We might get on some fucking list with the Fucking Feds who want to stop us from writing all over the blank wall of the fucking internets.
